Dorothy's daughter, Sandra, has written the following about her mother:
It is an honour to speak on behave of this modest, loving and generous lady that I have the privilege of calling my mom.
Throughout my life I have seen her meet adversity head-on while raising myself and my two sisters, as well as fostering and adopting my two nieces.
All together she has seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren that she dotes on with love and attention every time she is around them.
As a child I remember my mother adopting a baby lamb that she got up and bottle fed at 3 am every morning. When mom found Elizabeth a new home, she was heartbroken.
After being successfully self-employed as a bookkeeper, Dorothy found her calling as a caregiver. She has experienced more appreciation and fulfillment in the home support field.
I am excited to share this love with her, as we get to share knowledge and experience to grow in our mutually chosen careers.
I have seen mom embrace her caregiving path with passion, excitement and fierce love. I am thrilled that Dorothy has earned this honour as I know she deserves it.
Thank you, Home Instead -With love Dorothy's eldest daughter Sandra
