Home Instead Senior Care Etobicoke and a team of volunteers came together for a wrap party at Tapestry Village Gate West in mid-December to prepare more than 250 gifts for distribution to local seniors in time for the holidays. Every year, the
Be a Santa to a Senior program collects unwrapped gifts donated by local businesses and residents for seniors who might otherwise not receive anything during the holiday season. Home Instead Senior Care Etobicoke has partnered with Tapestry Retirement Residence, Shoppers Home Health Care (Six Points Plaza), Trillium Health Partners and Etobicoke Support Services to help with gift collection and distribution.
Since the program started in 2003, 60 000 volunteers have delivered over 1 200 000 gifts to over 700 000 seniors, globally. The program provides a much-needed boost for seniors who may be isolated from their families. It means so much for them to know that people care and value them as members of our community.
