Professional golfer and Orangeville native Brittany Marchand is hitting the links with the support of a new local sponsor, Home Instead Senior Care Etobicoke, a leading provider of in-home care services for senior citizens.
Brittany joined Canada’s women’s golf team in 2011 and has competed as an amateur in the Canadian Open twice. Her home club is the Brampton Golf Club where she is considered a mentor and leader in the community.
“It’s with great pleasure that we welcome Brittany Marchand as an ambassador of the Home Instead Senior Care brand,” stated Greg Bechard, Franchise Managing Director at Home Instead Senior Care Etobicoke. “Brittany’s work ethic and pursuit of excellence exemplifies the Home Instead brand. This type of investment in local talent is essential to celebrating our community and helping build a name for our local stars.”
Brittany competed in her first professional tournament in August 2015. It was the LPGA’s Canadian Pacific Women’s Open in Vancouver. This summer Brittany is competing in the Symetra Tour, playing in tournaments across the United States. She hopes to compete again on home turf this summer in the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open in Calgary and the Manulife Classic in Cambridge, Ontario.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the Home Instead Senior Care team,” Brittany Marchand said. “Their support means so much to be as it brings me that much closer to realizing my dreams of competing in major golf tournaments in Canada and internationally.”
Brittany previously golfed on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tour for North Carolina State University. While at NC State, the Wolfpack placed 10th in the country in her final year – the team’s best result in their history. Brittany also earned a degree in chemical engineering from NC State while being recognized as an Academic All-American, named three times to the All-ACC Women’s Golf Team, and four times to the All-ACC Academic Team.
