Home Instead Senior Care has provided compassionate home care and support services to Etobicoke residents for more than 13 years. This year, for the ninth consecutive me, we have been awarded the Readers’ Choice Diamond Award for Best Service Provider for In-Home Senior Care and Senior Assisted Care.
More than just a service provider, Home Instead has been recognized as a trusted community resource, offering tools, educational resources, and valuable insights to help families overcome the challenges that come with caregiving. We work to raise awareness on important issues that affect seniors and their family caregivers.
Recently, our organization launched a free, nationwide alert system called the Missing Senior Network, to help family caregivers keep their aging loved ones living with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia safe from wandering. Available at www.MissingSeniorNetwork.ca, family caregivers who sign up for the Missing Senior Network may alert a network of family, friends and businesses in the event their loved one goes missing.
In addition to providing public resources for families caring for those with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia, Home Instead offers free Alzheimer’s Family Caregiver Training to families in the Etobicoke community. The workshops, led by award-winning Education Coordinator Jennifer Churchill, teach family caregivers how to help manage dementia-related behaviours, encourage engagement, and take me to care for themselves.
