We are seeking a high energy and results focused candidate who is looking forward to advancing their professional development in a career in Human Resources.

As an HR Assistant you will be involved in all areas of the recruitment process for Home Instead Senior Care, including the interview and selection processes. You will guide prospective employees through the hiring process and be instrumental in ensuring we have the right people in the right places. You will support other initiatives relating to HR management including but not limited to reference checking, new hire trainings, scheduling and other assigned duties, as required.


The individual must be a highly organized self-starter with outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills. This position is part of the Graduate to Opportunity program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruiting new CAREGivers, screening potential CAREGivers, and checking references
  • Assist with selecting new hires and facilitating new hire training
  • Promote benefits of CAREGiving as a rewarding career
  • Speak at job fairs/community events
  • Assist with planning/execution of caregiver events
  • Assist with coordinating caregiver/client schedules
  • Maintain caregiver files in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Participate in overnight / on-call duties 1-2 evenings per week and 1-2 weekends per month
  • General reception duties

Qualifications:

  • Candidate MUST be a recent graduate (an individual who has successfully completed a post-secondary program within the dates August 14th, 2017 - August 14th, 2018) - education with a concentration in Business Administration/Human Resources is preferred
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, self-motivated and can deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to present a confident, professional demeanor
  • Superior interpersonal and time-management skills
  • Comfortable taking disciplinary action with CAREGivers

Bonus Assets:

  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Office 365
  • Working knowledge of Google Apps
  • Enjoy acting as a resource for Client/employee inquiries
  • Valid driver’s license
