Halifax, Nova Scotia, July 7, 2019 – Alice McCarron announced today that she acquired the Home Instead Senior Care franchise serving the Halifax area from Jeanie Burke.

With over 140 employees, Home Instead Senior Care Halifax is one of the largest local providers of in-home care services, providing highly personalized support to seniors and their families. For the past 16 years, Home Instead Senior Care Halifax has been enabling seniors to live safely and comfortably in their homes, while expanding its services to seniors with varied individual needs.

It will be business as usual for the company's clients with all current staff remaining with Home Instead, including Jeanie Burke who will serve as a trusted advisor to McCarron.

"I'm thrilled to be taking on this exciting opportunity to enhance the lives of Halifax seniors and their families. Since meeting Jeanie over 10 years ago, I've watched her lead and develop a strong team of management and caregivers that I'm pleased to be joining," said Alice McCarron. "The success of this company is a testament to the incredible work of the Home Instead team, both in Halifax and across the company's global network."

McCarron added that with the growing demands on the healthcare system in Nova Scotia, home care will be a vital part of the solution on how best to serve our aging population.

"Alice's acquisition of the Halifax area franchise and her interest in expanding operations provides an opportunity for area residents to gain more access to the home care they need. With her management experience and family history of owning and operating seniors' homes, I know she has the right experience to lead this incredible team in delivering care for seniors," said Jeanie Burke. "While I will remain an advisor to Alice, I'm looking forward to discovering other ways in which my experience growing and managing Home Instead and other service businesses can contribute to the business community."
