Requirements To Be a Personal Support Worker/Developmental Support Worker/CAREGiver

  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Ability to maintain consistent availability indicated at the point of hiring for at least 90 days
  • Ability to work independently
  • Complete a criminal background check/police vulnerable sector check
  • Possess a valid G driver’s license and valid auto insurance
  • Obtain a Driver's Abstract (if wanting to drive clients)
  • Access to a vehicle is preferred
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs
  • First Aid/CPR training is considered an asset
  • Completed Ministry of Labour Worker Health & Safety Awareness in 4 Steps Training

Home Care Consultant / Business Development Coordinator

Objective
:

The Home Care Consultant is responsible for ensuring achievement of revenue objectives for the assigned territory. Revenue is to be generated from a variety of Sales and Marketing duties, including researching and pursuing new referral sources. In addition growing client base  and nurturing  relationships with referral sources within senior and attended care communities. Plan and host formal and informal caregiver support groups, participation in local healthcare or business committees as well as community events. This position is responsible for reporting results in moving relationships forward to Manager on a weekly basis, discussing successes and opportunities, and demonstrating documented progress and inquiry production in Sales/Marketing/Networking areas.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reflect the core values of the Organization
  • Responsible for researching and developing client relationships and producing referrals; performs all phases of sales process, including preparation and documentation of cold calls, follow-up calls, diagnosis of referral source and client needs, recommendation of appropriate Home Instead® services and additional community resources, maintaining and nurturing existing referral accounts, including follow-up, as necessary.
  • Achieve inquiry generation objectives for assigned territory with the primary goal of bringing in new business to increase overall market share. Target accounts include, but are not limited to, hospitals, physicians, home health agencies, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, senior centers, hospice, funeral homes, etc.
  • In conjunction with Home Instead Senior Care franchise leadership, develops sales and marketing plans, detailing weekly and monthly activities focused on meeting or exceeding established goals.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Home Instead Senior Care brand. Effectively presents Home Instead Senior Care marketing materials and services to referral providers, including 1:1 meetings, as well as planning, arranging and conducting formal group presentations to referral providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls; presentations; closed sales; and follow-up activities within the assigned territory, including the use of software to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential.
  • Develop a database of qualified leads from referrals through face-to-face cold calling on referral providers, email, telephone and Web.
  • Conduct Service Inquiries and Care Consultations as needed following the consultative sales process
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of educational programs offered to clients, prospects, and co-workers.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client/CAREGiverSM introductions as needed
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) visits with clients as needed
  • Participate in various PR strategies

Critical Numbers:

  • Complete 20 impressions per week/ 80 per month
  • Obtain 3 inquiries per week from referral providers as a direct result of sales activity
  • Obtain 5/8 clients/month from referral providers as a direct result of Marketing/Networking Events
  • Facilitate 4 networking events each month

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Related business or sales experience (consultative sales a plus)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to work in the field, and be insurable.

 

Knowledge, skills and Abilities:

  • Must have an understanding of and uphold the policies and procedures established by the Organization
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
  • Must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills is essential as well as sound judgment and good decision-making
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, policies and procedures
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly work
  • Must have the ability to establish good working relationships with office colleagues, the franchise owner, clients and the community
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must have the ability to operate office equipment
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Word and Excel
  • Must be able to work evenings or weekends as required

POSITION LOCATED 25 MINUTES SOUTH OF PETERBOROUGH

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our dedicated team. We are searching for the right person to care for a very special client who is post traumatic brain injury. This client is 40+ years old, quadriplegic, has limited vocabulary, loves the outdoors, enjoys the beach and fishing and has a very supportive family. This potential candidate must be creative, love movies and think outside the box to engage our client both socially and emotionally.

 

Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow clients to remain in their home while our specialized Caregivers provide instrumental activities of daily living, and activities of daily living.

 

Ongoing Shift Scheduling

12 hour shifts 7-7 days and nights
