Scott Johnson is the managing director at the Oakville office of Home Instead Senior Care. Scott has lived in Oakville with his wife Leslie and his daughters Ashley and Alex for 29 years. He earned a business degree from Ryerson University in 1981, majoring in information technology. Scott started his own business in 1989. His main focus in this business was computer system engineering and technical consulting. Scott became interested in Home Instead Senior Care due to his grandmother`s situation. His grandmother needed to move from her own home to a long term care facility at 99 years of age due to memory problems. Scott said, I often thought that my grandmother could have stayed in her home longer with the help of Home Instead Senior Care. Scott; however, is in a position to help other seniors in that same situation.
Nicole joined Home Instead Senior Care in June of 2014. Before joining our team she worked exclusively with patients suffering from Alzheimer's and other Dementias for almost 10 years. She graduated from Mohawk College with honours in the PSW Program. Nicole manages our external contracts, does regular Quality Assurance checks to ensure the right fit with those clients and as Office Manager she takes over when our Managing Director is not available. Nicole lives in Milton with her partner and 3 children and enjoys seeing the difference made by Home Instead for seniors in her own community. In her free time she volunteers at a local farm sanctuary.
Kissmah joined the
Home Instead team in April 2017. Before working with our team Kissmah
worked in the health care industry for 14 years at University Health Network and then
onto another home care company where she learned all about the vastly growing home care industry. Kissmah lives in Milton with her musician of a
husband, son Dustin and her mother. She has finally found her “home” at Home
Instead. She enjoys working with the team and finding the perfect caregiver for
Kathy joined Home Instead Senior Care in December of 2010 as a CAREGiver, and joined our office staff as our Administrative Assistant. Kathy has, in the past worked in a retirement home and in a long term care facility in Burlington. Kathy grew up in Toronto, went to St. Josephs High School and graduated from Seneca College with a Coaching Certificate. She also studied Police Sciences. Somewhere along the way Kathy became a professional cook. Kathy did years of volunteer work in the schools of her 5 children as well as the Kinnete Club of Oakville. Recently, she became involved with the Burlington Cancer Society and raised $2,700.00 through her participation in the Two Day Walk to End Cancer. She enjoys family, friends and travel.
Janis Richardson joined us in 2013 as Administrative Assistant shortly after receiving her diploma for Medical Office Assistant. She is responsible for accounting functions, including billing, as well as payroll. Janis takes care to guarantee service hours are entered accurately before distributing invoices and pay cheques. Her consistent cheerful nature and attention to detail make her a welcoming face when you enter our office.
Jeannie joined Home Instead in March of 2018 as our Human Resources Manager. She was born and raised in Oakville and has worked as a nurse for many years with most of her career spent right here in Halton. Her main focus has been working with seniors and their families in Retirement Homes, and her role now with Home Instead has shifted slightly so that she is working as our Client Services Manager. Her authentic and compassionate approach, combined with her vast range of skills, knowledge and experience allows her to bridge the gap between families and caregivers, adapting to the ever changing needs of our seniors to provide exceptional continuity of care.
Stephanie and her husband Andy welcomed their first daughter Abigail in May 2017. Since returning in the spring of 2018 she has taken on her new role as our Home Care Consultant.
Linda joined the HISC Oakville team in August 2018 as our Human Resources Manager. Her main focus is to seek out experienced and compassionate caregivers and PSW's to work on our ever growing team.
Veronica joined Home Instead in August 2014. She moved to Canada in 2009 and she has in the past worked in long-term care facilities in the United Kingdom and recently in Brandon, Manitoba. She has a passion for caring for people and she often volunteers in her local community. Veronica graduated from the RN program at York University in 2017. Veronica lives in Oakville with her husband, Peter and four children.
