Julie's passion for helping seniors and their families is shown every day in her work with community education and advocacy. She is responsible for the daily operations of Home Instead Senior Care ensuring the highest quality of care to clients by providing over 170 CAREGivers with a meaningful employment.
As a dedicated community leader she is the founding President of the Manitoba Caregiver Coalition heading many initiatives with government and organizations that focus on recognizing caregivers and their invaluable contributions. Successfully advocating for the Caregiver Recognition Act, the only one of its kind in Canada, Julie sees the act to action working to build awareness through campaigns such as CareAware Manitoba as well as speaking to workplaces on the need to support employed family caregivers. Such work was recognized by the Global Home Instead Senior Care head office and she was presented the Senior Advocate Award which is awarded to one owner out of over 700 in the network who demonstrates a strong commitment to advocating for seniors.
One of the largest community programs she has initiated is the 'Be A Santa To A Senior' program that has delivered over 15,000 gifts to isolated seniors in Winnipeg over the past 8 years. This program teams up various community organizations to ensure Winnipeg's most isolated and lonely populations at Christmas time are delivered a gift along with a handmade children's card and a friendly visit.
Born and raised in Winnipeg Julie is a graduate of the Asper School of Business in Entrepreneurship and Marketing. She is the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal presented by the Canadian Home Care Association, first ever Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2011 by the Woman Business Owners of Manitoba for her excellence in business. In 2012, she was named one of The Uniter's 30 under 30, was a YMCA-YWCA Women of Distinction nominee. Additionally Home Instead has been recognized at as finalist in Community Service Excellence by the BBB in 2014 and in 2015 Julie was presented with the CBC Future 40 Award.
Brian runs our Music of our Lives program in to the community. This program is a free community service that is provided to Personal Care Home, Supportive Housing, Adult Day Programs etc where he shares his love for music through singing and guitar.
Jojo Yap is our Client Care Manager who oversees each Client Care Plan and the Care Team. With 6 years' experience on the Home Instead team Jojo understands the complexities to aging care needs and will help find innovative ways on how we can help ensure our clients' needs are met every step of the journey.
Henry De Lara is our Service Coordinator who carefully matches our Clients and CAREGivers. Henry's keen intuition and relationships with our CAREGivers allows him to fit them into a client that will flourish. If you need to make any adjustments the schedule he will be happy to assist.
Laura Ode is our Quality Assurance Specialist/CAREGiver Coordinator who works with the Care Team and is dedicated to supporting our CAREGivers. Laura has a wealth of knowledge and experience in training and she enjoys providing the on-going training and support to develop confidence and competence in our CAREGivers.
Alanna Rogan is our Home Care Consultant and provides support to families and their loved ones to understand the resources available to help support them. With a wealth of experience both within our office and working with seniors she understands the complexities of caregiving and how we can find innovative ways to help.
Jeannette Brigit is our Community Service Coordinator and provides education about our programs and services to the community. After retiring from her career as clergy Jeannette came to Home Instead as a CAREGiver and grew into her current role naturally. Her biggest program she heads in our Be A Santa to a Senior raising over 13,000 gifts to date!
Tannis Ginter is our Payroll/Invoicing Specialist who is responsible for processing invoices and receiving payments. With over 5 years' experience with the Home Instead team she has filled many roles and understands the unique challenges in caregiving for families.
