Debbie Franchuk, RN, Co-Owner, Director of Care

Caring for people has always been a part of Debbie’s life. This interest began at an early age when her sister was critically injured. This opened Debbie’s eyes to caring for others and ultimately led her to pursue a career in Nursing. Debbie has a distinguished career at Alberta Health Services, there she built a reputation based upon nursing excellence. Debbie has had extensive experience with Home Care and Transition services. In these roles, Debbie saw firsthand the need for in-home care which the public system was not meeting. This inspired Debbie to open a Home Instead office to meet that need and provide a solution. As Director of Care, Debbie is able to use her nursing skills and professional experiences to help families navigate the system and customize unique care plans for each client. Debbie’s credibility is one of the reasons that Home Instead is the right choice for families who are seeking support for their elderly loved ones. 


Fred Franchuk, Co-Owner, Managing Partner

Fred Franchuk, Co-Owner, Managing Partner

Fred cares deeply about relationships, he has an old fashioned sense of customer service. He has built a career based upon anticipating and exceeding customer expectations. This high calibre of customer service is constantly being taught to our entire staff and he ensures that our clients and their family's needs are met and exceeded. Fred has worked with teams and organizations where he has built a reputation by raising standards for customer service and satisfaction. Aside from working behind the scenes to manage operations, Fred is continually providing direction and painting the picture of our future as a company. His leadership is one of the key elements that makes our team successful. He also spends a significant amount of time out in our community sharing information about Home Instead with Seniors Residences and Hospitals while continuing to meet with clients and families. 


Susan Szabo, Nurse, Client Care Coordinator

Susan Szabo, Nurse, Client Care Coordinator

Susan has an extensive and diverse background in senior care, nursing, administration and safety. A registered nurse for over twenty years, she has worked in long term care, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, obstetrics, emergency and senior management positions both in rural and urban settings. Care of the growing aging population has been a focus throughout her nursing career. Her passion for healthcare, and her desire to support seniors combined with her experience provides her with all the tools required when designing a care plan for our clients.


Grace Saunders, PSW, Client Care Coordinator

Grace Saunders, PSW, Client Care Coordinator

​Grace is a Personal Support Worker and also has a Social Work Diploma. These certifications help Grace ensure our clients are receiving the highest quality care. Grace works in a hands on capacity with our clients ensuring that their ever-changing needs are being met as they age. By staying ahead of the immediate needs that come with ageing, Grace is able to prevent hospital visits while keeping our clients as safe and independent as possible. If a client's wishes are to age where they currently call home, Grace is committed to finding solutions that will help meet this goal. 


Stephen Franchuk, B MGT, Customer Service Manager

Stephen Franchuk, B MGT, Customer Service Manager

After providing support to various departments within the organization, it was a natural decision for Stephen to be promoted to the Customer Service Manager. His ability to listen and understand helps to solve little problems before they grow, while simultaneously coaching and guiding the support team to meet the demanding and complex needs of our clients and their families. Along with the management of the scheduling department, Stephen also manages our web marketing, social media and will often be seen in the community at various events. Always here to help, Stephen is not afraid to do whatever it takes to keep a client or employee happy.​

Amy More, Community Sales Representative

​Amy has worked in the seniors housing industry for over 10 years and now has a passion for helping the elderly. Amy has assisted seniors and their families during stressful times by knowing the resources and options available to them. She is a trusted advisor and resource to guide families through the decision-making process. Through a consultative process, Amy is able to provide resources to families, doctors, social workers and other members of the community who work with seniors. Amy is passionate and committed to assist seniors and their families as she truly understands the challenges they face and the emotional aspects of moving. Amy believes that whenever possible it is best for the senior to remain safe and independent at home, instead of anywhere else. 


Stefanie Story, Administrative Assistant

Stefanie Story, Administrative Assistant

​With varied experience working both behind the scenes and in direct contact with different age groups and their families, Stefanie's background helps her engage with each person and caller in the office. Stefanie started her career with Home Instead Senior Care working as a CAREGiver where she worked with clients of varies needs. This experience helps Stefanie support CAREGivers who are working with clients and also helps her understand the family's needs. Her passion is in people, she loves to connect and create positive interactions. On any given day you can find Stefanie managing countless projects to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. 


Tamara Dhillion, Scheduling Manager

Tamara Dhillion, Scheduling Manager

​Tamara has several years of scheduling experience and is a great asset to our team. She is able to find new ways to solve the daily challenges that arise while keeping a customer focused approach. Her in-depth knowledge of our CAREGiving team allows her to match CAREGivers to even the most challenging situations. Tamara makes it a priority to make sure all of our CAREGivers are prepared to work with our clients. ​


Bev Rigel, Scheduling Manager

Bev Rigel, Scheduling Manager

​Bev is an extremely valuable member of the Home Instead Senior Care team. She brings a wealth of scheduling experience to the team. With over 10 years of scheduling, management and customer service experience she is poised to help Home Instead continue to provide the highest quality care to their clients. She possesses a keen attention to detail and compassion along with the will and determination to help others. Bev's "roll up her sleeves" mentality helps to ensure that clients are receiving the premium service that they deserve. There is never a problem to big or small for Bev. Constantly striving for better solutions and detailed, tailor made customer service is what Bev and Home Instead are all about.

Shelby Rowland, Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator

​Shelby has worked in a variety of positions here at Home Instead Senior Care. Shelby originally started as a CAREGiver where she excelled at providing the highest quality of care to clients. To Shelby, each shift was an opportunity to make a senior's day a little bit better. She now helps to recruit the best CAREGivers to Home Instead, so we can support more seniors in the community. Her attention to detail and the value she places on customer service helps her find the best applicants. Along with recruitment, Shelby will support CAREGivers who are on shift and will also work as a Scheduling Manager when the need arises. 


Taylor Pinkney, Weekend Scheduling Manager

​Taylor does a great job of taking care of schedule changes and supporting the organization on weekends. Taylor continues to guide and direct our caregivers while the rest of the team takes a break. Taylor works casual and on call as a scheduling manager. ​


Jilysa Everett,Weekend Scheduling Manager

Jilysa Everett,Weekend Scheduling Manager

​As a Weekend Scheduling Manager, Jilysa supports our CAREGivers and Clients. She ensures all clients are receiving the highest quality care and their needs are being met. Jilysa works both as a Scheduling Manager and also as a CAREGiver. This gives Jilysa the unique ability to support CAREGivers, because she does the same work on a regular basis.


Catherine Guindon, Accounting Administrative Assistant

Catherine Guindon, Accounting Administrative Assistant

Catherine works as a CAREGiver and also as the Accounting Administrative Assistant.  She is responsible for Payroll and the Invoice processing. Catherine works closely with our Accounting firm to ensure all aspects of our book keeping are in alignment with Provincial and Federal laws. Catherine is another one of those important "behind the scenes" employees that we have. She is always willing to help and ensure the clients and CAREGivers needs are being met.
