Protect Seniors Online is an important workshop centred around protecting seniors who are using the internet. Whether it’s internet shopping or staying in touch with family and friends on Facebook, more seniors than ever are online. With the internet comes safety risks 68% of surveyed seniors use a single password or re-use passwords on multiple sites. Half of seniors interviewed do not use a password on at least one of their internet-enabled devices. Encouraging older adults to practice cyber safety can go a long way toward protecting their identity and sensitive personal information. Family caregivers can lack the knowledge needed to protect their loved ones from these growing risks.
