Overnight Awake Part Time Caregiver For Seniors


Here is your opportunity to become a CAREGiver and help others by becoming part of the worlds largest provider of non-medical home care for seniors in Calgary & Okotoks.  We are looking for CAREGivers that have exceptional relationship skills and are passionate about caring for seniors. No formal experience or training is necessary. Youll bring your heart, patience and reliability, and we will provide the training and support.  As a CAREGiver, your job is to deliver high-quality care with a compassionate touch. These are AWAKE OVERNIGHT Shifts, you will need to have slept during the day, If you are interested we would encourage you to apply. You must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.  

Your duties will  include:
  • Assistance with bathing, toileting,grooming and dressing
  • Light housekeeping
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Medication reminders
  • Providing transportation to and from appointments
  • Working with Alzheimer's/Dementia clients 
All successful applicants must meet the following essential requirements:
  • You must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Have full access to their own vehicle and a valid driver's license for each shift
  • Be able to pass a  police background check and rigorous reference checks
  • Willing to travel to the homes of the client, whether it be in a private home or facility in all areas of Calgary 
  • Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to commit to the same hours every week
  • Supportive team player that interacts well with our Client Care and Scheduling Supervisory teams
  • Ongoing support and paid training is available. Currently we are looking for Monday to Friday Day time,Overnight and weekend applicants.. Please note there are NO full time jobs available.

Weekend Scheduling Manager

Home Instead Senior Care, the world’s largest provider of non-medical home care for senior’s is currently looking for a Weekend Scheduling Manager to join the Calgary office team.  Our company is continuing to grow significantly and here is your opportunity to join a team that provides primary contact for our clients, CAREGivers and families after hours and on weekends.

Position Summary
The Weekend Scheduling Manager position begins every Friday at 4:00 PM and includes all day Saturday and Sunday until Monday at 8:00 AM.  In this role you will work from our office during business hours, with an on-call component during the 3 evenings (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) including on-call overnights. You will ensure that phones are answered promptly and professionally, as you staff care shifts for our clients. You will actively manage the staffing requirements while on duty. This will be an exciting role that will test your organizational abilities and communication skills.   

Required Skills and Responsibilities 
-Utilize exceptional communication, interpersonal, consultative and negotiation skills to provide excellent over the phone and in person customer service to both clients and CAREGivers.
-Anticipate needs while working closely alongside the Client Care Team to ensure a high level of customer service.  Respond to escalated client concerns and be proactive about managing future issues.
-Ability to work in a fast paced, intense work culture and have the ability to adapt to continual change.
-Results driven and customer service focused, self-motivated, well organized and a team player.
-High level of self-motivation, energy, initiative and flexibility.  Able to work alone during weekend shifts.
-Assumes full ownership for building trusting and on-going relationships with all involved parties.
-Strong documentation and written communication abilities.
 
 Qualifications and Experience
-Minimum of 3 years experience in an administrative or staff scheduling role in a fast paced service environment.
-High proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and scheduling software. Exposure to CRM software systems is an asset.  
- Post Secondary education or healthcare experience would be an asset.
