Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate individuals to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of seniors and their families through quality, compassionate and professional care, throughout West Edmonton, St. Albert, Morinville, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Leduc and Devon, and all the west surrounding area. Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity. Care will take place in the community, where ever the client calls home, including, but not limited to: in home care, in facility care, and in hospital care.

Duties to the client include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing companionship and conversation to stimulate, encourage, and assist a senior client
  • Assisting clients in maintaining their homes by providing light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, dusting, laundry, vacuuming
  • Providing medication reminders
  • Supporting senior clients in completing their activities of daily living including toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance
  • Escorting clients to medical appointments
  • Dementia care
  • Hospice and palliative support

Duties to the office staff include:

  • Document daily activities and report any significant changes in a client’s needs or living conditions
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisor and office staff through the 24/7 on-call phone.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
  • Must have a smart phone, with a data plan, and be able to navigate with business apps
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Possess a vehicle and valid auto insurance, and able to obtain a clear 3-year Drivers’ Abstract
  • Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity, respect and confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
