With a career as a CAREGiver at Home Instead Senior Care, you can help families by offering individualized care for their aging loved ones. You’ll share your unique talents and experiences to help seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

We offer part-time positions with the availability to work full time hours, and are able to give you the flexibility needed to get the perfect work/life balance.

Our ideal CAREGiver candidate:

  • Has a flexible schedule and is available to work a minimum of two days per week up to full-time hours
  • Is self-directed, and takes own initiative
  • Has tact, compassion and patience.
  • Is able to separate personal responsibility from professional, thereby giving our clients 100% due care and attention
  • Has a cell phone and is comfortable with learning new apps, texting and/or emailing
  • Is interested in continuous learning
  • Has a driver’s license and full time access to a reliable vehicle

Your duties will include:

  • Assistance with bathing, toileting, grooming and dressing
  • Light housekeeping
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Medication reminders
  • Providing transportation to and from appointments
  • Working with Alzheimer's/Dementia clients

All successful applicants must meet the following essential requirements:

  • You must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Have full access to their own vehicle and a valid driver's license for each shift
  • Be able to pass a police background check and rigorous reference checks
  • Willing to travel to the homes of the client, whether it be in a private home or facility in all areas of West Edmonton
  • Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to commit to the same hours every week
  • Supportive team player that interacts well with our Client Care and Scheduling Supervisory teams
  • Able to communicate via smart phone, email and adapt to new software
  • Ongoing support and paid training is available. Currently we are looking for Monday to Friday day time, early evenings and weekend applicants. Please note there are NO full-time jobs available.

This position's wage is $15.00/hour.  We are always looking for the best candidates for this role.
