Everyone knows that as soon as November 1st hits, it’s time to get excited for the Holiday season! Here at Home Instead, November means that ‘Be A Santa to a Senior’ is just around the corner!
What is Be a Santa to a Senior? Each year, Home Instead Senior Care offices throughout North America spread holiday cheer to lonely or financially challenged seniors through this program. The aim is to spread holiday cheer throughout your local community.
How does it work? Home Instead Senior Care partners with local non-profit community organizations to identify seniors who might not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season. Then, the company works with local businesses and retail stores to help facilitate the purchase and distribution of gifts by placing trees and ornaments within their various locations. Each senior’s gift requests are written on a Be a Santa to a Senior bulb found on the Christmas tree. What an amazing way to give back to the community. And what better time to do something nice than throughout the Holiday season?
Fun facts: Since the program began in 2003, there have been over 60,000 volunteers help distribute gifts, 1,200,000 gifts provided to deserving seniors and 700,000 seniors whose holiday was brightened.
Special Note: Christmas tree locations will be announced on Monday, November 13th!
‘Tis the season to help others! Call your local Home Instead Senior Care office to find out more.
