Home Instead Senior Care has partnered with local community organizations to ensure isolated seniors and patients will be thought of this holiday and receive gifts through the annual Be a Santa to a Senior program.
With the support of area partners, volunteers and members of the community, the Home Instead Senior Care office in Hamilton is collecting and distributing gifts to isolated seniors and patients.
The Be a Santa to a Senior program invites local residents to pick up an ornament off special Christmas trees, purchase the items on the list and return them unwrapped to the same location, along with the ornament attached. All gifts will be donated to seniors and patients who might otherwise spend the holiday alone.
Media and community members in Hamilton are invited to join local franchise owners for the launch of the Be a Santa to a Senor gift drive.
Friday, November 13, at 11 a.m. St Peter’s Hospital Foundation 88 Maplewood Ave, Hamilton
Compared to the majority of Canadians, more seniors are living alone than any other population group. For seniors who live alone or have lost spouses and loved ones, the holiday season can be a very difficult time. The Be a Santa to a Senior program helps to bring holiday joy to many lonely and isolated seniors across Canada.
