Home Instead Senior Care is currently looking for CAREGiver’s that want to make a difference in the lives of others.   • Assistance with bathing, grooming and dressing
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping

 All successful applicants must meet the following essential requirements:
 
  • Have a valid driver's license and access to your own reliable and fully insured vehicle.
  • Willing to travel to the homes of the client in the areas served by our business, whether it be in a private home or facility
  • Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to commit to the same schedule weekly
  • Complete a criminal background check, a vulnerable sector check, 3 professional and personal references
  • Supportive team player that interacts well with our Client Care and Scheduling Supervisory teams
We are currently serving NW, NE and parts of SE (and surroudning areas) Calgary and have growing number of shifts available with competitive pay and offer ongoing training opportunities. Paid training will be provided for personal care and dementia care.

Health Care Aide (HCA)

Job Requirements:

  • Health Care Aide Certificate
  • Have a genuine compassion for seniors.
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Complete a clear criminal background check and provide 2 professional and 2 personal references
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Possess a reliable vehicle with valid auto insurance
  • Good Oral and Communication Skills
  • Previous community experience an asset
  • Currently enrolled in a nursing program, having completed at least one year
  • First aide & CPR are considered an asset

Looking for Cantonese Speaking CAREGiver 
 

Staying home is essential in our community and our seniors are the most vulnerable. They need us and we need you! 

 

Home Instead is hiring part time CAREGivers to perform the essential work of keeping seniors safe, comfortable, and at home.  Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Alzheimer’s Care


All CAREGivers will go through specific training designed by Home Instead Senior Care and will receive an in house certification in Personal Care tasks (which includes demonstrating ability to assist our clients with grooming, bathing, continence care, and mobility) prior to working for our clients. After training CAREGivers will feel confident going into the client’s home helping them achieve success with their emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. 

Requirements to be a CAREGiver are:

  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Demonstrated reliability and trustworthiness
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check, and drug screen.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be available to work a schedule of 10-30 hours per week.
