We want to recognize and congratulate you Kim for being chosen the Caregiver of the month for July.

It was May of 2019 when you began with Home Instead and you have quietly and consistently provided excellent care for our seniors. 2 years, over 1800 hours and 36 clients later you continue to shine. Don’t think we have not noticed your approach and the excellent care you have been providing all
this time.

As a retired RN you bring a special skill set with you to each client that you serve. Your gentle and kind approach has helped you deal with many types of clients especially those with dementia. It is through your background experience and wisdom that you know not to take behaviours personally as you recognize it is the disease and not the person. You are determined to find that connection and break down barriers to reach the person within. You also bring a lot of joy to your clients.

I think of the client who was determined not to even allow caregivers to enter her suite. You were determined to find a way, bringing your foot care spa bath from your car. You have served palliative clients providing comfort and reassurance. You have helped calm a disorientated client who was
paranoid and determined someone had purposefully ruined their table. You have served single clients as well as couples. You easily work with complicated and detail orientated care plans. You often take shifts to cover for other caregivers and help to keep serving our clients without interruptions.

We so appreciated that you have also provided weekend care when needed and stretched your schedule to help serve a client in need. It always is a pleasure working with you!

You are gentle, reliable, and compassionate, putting the needs of your client first while still recognizing the need for self care and that it is important to sometimes step back in order to provide 100%. You are consistent, dependable, positive and willing to still learn and grow. You are a great and patient listener and provide wisdom in your reports. Your enriched perspective gives important information for greater
client care. More importantly, you are dedicated and have stayed with us right through the Pandemic, easily going with what was needed during a very uncertain time. This alone speaks volumes about your compassion and dedication to care.

But that is a part of who you are. You are always willing to serve and to help when needed. You are always positive, caring and we know we can send you anywhere! That is a sign of a truly experienced and dedicated caregiver as you always have a smile on your face and are ready to serve.

Thank you for your support of providing care for seniors and for supporting our mission.

Congratulations!
