As the New Year begins, our team at Home Instead (Edmonton) is looking forward to serving seniors and their families with quality care. Always meeting or exceeding our quality objectives is a year-round top priority!
We are proud of our wonderful team of 100+ caregivers, who are supported by our excellent training program, our professional office staff, and the entire Home Instead network.
Here's a quick look at are some of our activities and efforts in January:
- Saturday, Jan. 23, 9:00 a.m. to Noon - Alzheimer Family Caregiver Workshop at the Westend Seniors Activity Centre, 9629 – 176 Street, Edmonton.
- Thursday, Jan. 28, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Alzheimer Family Caregiver Workshop at the North Edmonton Seniors Association, 7524 – 139 Avenue, Edmonton.
- Watch our Calendar of Events for more locations and topics during 2016, including Caregiver Stress, Housing Options for Seniors, and Aging in Place & Preventing Hospitalization.
We will continue to build our connections in 2016 with senior care facilities, seniors' organizations and other senior care networks and stakeholders across Edmonton. (Note: A hearty thanks to all our friends and networks who were involved in our Be a Santa to a Senior efforts in December 2015!)
Throughout 2016 we will continue attending the monthly support network meeting hosted by the Alberta Caregivers Association. Each month, we will also continue our regular visits to seniors' residences, local hospitals, and health care facilities. If you would like us to visit your location or organization, or present a topical workshop for your audiences, please contact our office.
Stay in touch! We love to hear from our clients and contacts. Here are two of our recent testimonials:
- I would just like to pass along how pleased we are with the two caregivers. They treat Mom and Dad with great respect and honour. My sister and I know when they are there the required tasks will be done, and done well. Our Mom can give the caregivers a hard time as she wants to do the jobs herself, but with her dementia she is unable. Both caregivers are very patient and include her in their tasks if it is safe for them to do so. The good care makes things run smoothly.
- The relationship for Mom is so important. We trust our assigned caregiver completely. Everyone at your company has always been kind and accommodating. Thank you for the great service.
We also invite you to get connected and be social with Home Instead in 2016! Did you know that January is #AlzheimerAwarenessMonth? Check out this Home Instead website for Alzheimer resources.
