Do you provide care to a parent, relative or senior with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias? Are you a professional caregiver working with seniors? This course covers symptoms and diagnosis, ways to support and engage a senior with dementia, how to encourage activities, and techniques to help with different types of behaviors. This workshop content has been reviewed by the Alzheimer's Association and meets the Alzheimer's Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations for strategies, communication, and social needs.
All our workshops are
FREE and open to the public; seniors and/or family members (family caregivers)
are welcome. Health care professionals and caregivers are also welcome.
PRE-REGISTRATION required. Please PRE-REGISTER at least 3 business
days in advance, and a confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail.

14 registrants per workshop; early registration is recommended. Please note,
course dates are SUBJECT TO CHANGE. If fewer than 6 participants pre-register
for a workshop, you will receive a cancellation notice by e-mail, no less than
2 business days in advance.
NOTE: All workshops are held in the Family Education Training Centre at
our West Edmonton office – 13B Fairway Drive (in Westbrook mall, near
119 St. & 37 Ave in Aspen Gardens area).
