Health Care Aide

Home Instead is looking for caring and compassionate Caregivers for Weekends—we call ours Care Professionals—to become a part of our team and join our mission of expanding the world’s capacity to care. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow aging adults to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

We provide Homecare services in Spruce grove, Stony plain and surrounding areas. We care for our Care Pros as much as we care for our clients.We have a variety of weekend shifts available from 3 hour to 12 hour.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Companionship and conversation
• Personal Care which includes bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting
• Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
• Medication and appointment reminders
• Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care

Qualifications:

• HCA Alberta Directory Registered
• Valid CPR and First Aide Certificate
• Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
• Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
• Complete a criminal background check with a vulnerable sector check, 2 professional and personal references
• Have full access to their own vehicle and a valid driver's license for each shift
• You must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Must have the same availability each week
• Candidate must live in Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and surroundings
