A steady, supportive presence at home.
With that support in place, you can focus on what matters most: being present with your loved one.
Here’s how end-of-life care can help:
- Hands-on support – assistance with toileting, bathing, grooming, repositioning, and incontinence.
- A steady presence – companionship, calm reassurance, and someone there during both quiet and busy moments.
- Time for family caregivers – space to rest, step away, or take care of daily needs while knowing your loved one is supported.
- Help around the home – light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, and keeping things comfortable as family and friends visit.

End of Life Care FAQs
Yes. We provide non-medical end-of-life support at home.
Our team has experience arranging care in time for a client to remain at home during the final stage of life with family and friends present.
For someone who needs continuous assistance, Home Instead can also arrange Care Pros across the day and night through a 24-hour care schedule.
A continuous schedule may use two 12-hour or three 8-hour care periods, allowing Care Pros to provide support throughout the day and night.
Home Instead Red Deer provides non-medical home care. That support can be provided alongside the family and other services involved in the person’s end-of-life care.
Our Red Deer team can typically begin care within two to three days, depending on the client’s needs and available staffing.
Contacting us as early as possible is particularly helpful when the family expects to need 24-hour care because continuous support requires a larger staffing schedule.
