At Home Instead – Richmond/Surrey, caregiving is more than a job. It is about building trust, creating meaningful connections, and helping older adults feel safe, supported, and valued in the comfort of their own homes.

We are currently looking for a Mandarin-speaking Care Professional to support seniors in the Richmond community. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and comfortable providing person-centred care while communicating in both Mandarin and English.

Whether you have previous caregiving experience or a strong passion for helping others, we welcome individuals who value respect, patience, and meaningful relationships.

About the Role

As a Care Professional, you will support Mandarin-speaking older adults with daily living needs while helping them maintain dignity, comfort, and independence at home.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing companionship and meaningful conversation in Mandarin
  • Assisting with personal care, including toileting, showering, grooming, and hygiene
  • Supporting meal preparation and light housekeeping
  • Helping with errands, appointments, and daily routines as needed
  • Promoting client safety, comfort, and overall well-being
  • Completing clear and accurate documentation in English using our Care App, with training provided

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must reside in or near Richmond, BC
  • Fluent in Mandarin and comfortable communicating in English
  • Compassionate, reliable, and professional
  • Minimum 6 months of caregiving, home support, or related experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle preferred, but not mandatory
  • Ability to complete a criminal background check
Additional assets include CPR/First Aid and Food Safe certification, though these are not required to apply.
