Home Instead is seeking a reliable and professional Spanish-speaking Home Support Worker to join our team in Richmond. Due to growing demand for Spanish-speaking services, we are looking for an individual with strong personal care experience who can provide exceptional support to seniors in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and meaningful conversation in Spanish
  • Assist with personal care, including:
    • Bathing
    • Grooming
    • Dressing
    • Toileting and incontinence care
    • Mobility assistance and transfers
  • Safely operate and assist clients using a Hoyer lift
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry
  • Accompany clients to appointments and community outings
  • Observe and report changes in client condition
  • Complete care documentation and communicate with the office team

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Minimum 2 years of professional caregiving, home support, or personal care experience
  • Demonstrated experience providing hands-on personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance
  • Experience and training in operating a Hoyer lift are required
  • Comfortable assisting clients with mobility challenges and transfers
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle (required)
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional attitude
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check
  • CPR/First Aid certification is considered a strong asset
  • Food Safe certification is an asset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting seniors with dementia, mobility limitations, or complex care needs
  • Experience working independently in clients' homes
  • Residents of Richmond or nearby communities are encouraged to apply
