HR Manager

West Vancouver, North Vancouver & Downtown

Position Summary

At Home Instead, we believe exceptional care starts with exceptional people. We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and people-focused Human Resources Manager to lead recruitment, employee engagement, training, and HR operations across our North Shore, Downtown Vancouver, and Victoria offices.

This is a highly collaborative leadership role that plays a key part in shaping the employee experience for both our Care Professionals and office teams. Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead and manage all recruitment efforts for Care Professionals and office staff across multiple business units
  • Develop proactive sourcing strategies through job boards, community partnerships, schools, referrals, and networking initiatives
  • Conduct interviews, candidate screening, hiring, and onboarding processes
  • Maintain staffing pipelines to support operational growth and client demand
  • Support employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives

Care Professional Experience & Engagement

  • Serve as a primary support resource for Care Professionals throughout their employment journey
  • Lead effective orientation programs ensuring we not only offer excellent training but are leaders in the industry when it comes to caring for seniors
  • Build strong relationships with team members through ongoing communication, coaching, and support
  • Coordinate employee recognition initiatives, appreciation events, milestone celebrations, and engagement programs
  • Support retention strategies and promote a positive workplace culture
  • Help ensure Care Professionals feel connected, valued, and supported

Training & Development

  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding and orientation programs
  • Oversee Care Professional training, continuing education initiatives, and compliance requirements
  • Support leadership and professional development opportunities
  • Maintain training records and ensure all certifications and documentation remain current

Employee Relations & HR Operations

  • Support managers with employee relations, coaching, performance management, and workplace concerns
  • Assist with policy implementation and HR best practices
  • Ensure compliance with BC Employment Standards, WorkSafeBC requirements, privacy legislation, and company policies
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Support payroll and benefits administration processes as required

Multi-Unit Operational Support

  • Partner closely with operational leadership teams across North Shore, Downtown Vancouver, and Victoria
  • Help create consistency in employee experience, communication, and HR practices across all business units
  • Travel periodically between locations to support team engagement, recruitment initiatives, training, and events

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of progressive HR, recruitment, or workforce management experience
  • Experience in healthcare, hospitality, retail, or other service-based industries preferred
  • Strong understanding of recruitment, employee engagement, and people operations
  • Knowledge of BC Employment Standards and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPHR designation or working toward designation considered an asset
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations
  • Experience with scheduling, workforce coordination, or staffing environments
