Owner
Chris Robertson's passion for home care was inspired by his own experience with his parents. Understanding firsthand how stressful and emotional it can be to support a loved one, Chris was motivated to bring compassionate, reliable home care services to families across Cape Breton. Prior to opening the Home Instead franchise, Chris spent 10 years working in the diabetes industry with Johnson & Johnson. During this time, he worked closely with healthcare professionals and met many individuals and families facing the challenges that come with aging and chronic illness. These experiences helped him recognize the growing need for quality, in-home support and led him to open a Home Instead Senior Care franchise with the goal of making a meaningful difference in his community. Now, with more than 10 years in business, Chris is proud that the organization has become a trusted resource for seniors and their families throughout Cape Breton. His leadership and commitment to excellence have been recognized with several awards, including Male Businessperson of the Year and a Vital Excellence Award. Chris is also deeply committed to giving back to the community and volunteers his time with local minor hockey, supporting youth and families in the region. Chris and his wife Susan both grew up in Cape Breton and, after spending 10 years in Halifax, were happy to return home. Being close to family and raising their children, Luke and Anna, in the community they love has reinforced Chris's dedication to helping people remain safe, comfortable, and independent in the place they call HOME.
