A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family.

Our CAREGivers make a difference in the lives of seniors in the in Kingston area.

At global level, Home Instead, Inc. recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiver℠ of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.

August 2026 - Dorcas

We are proud to recognize Dorcas as this month's Caregiver of the Month for her compassion, dedication, and commitment to providing exceptional care.
Having joined Home Instead in 2024, Dorcas has brought kindness, empathy, and professionalism to every client she serves. She first discovered Home Instead while searching for opportunities on Indeed and was excited to begin her caregiving journey with our team. Since then, she has enjoyed working with a variety of clients throughout the community, allowing her to grow both personally and professionally.
Dorcas' passion for caregiving began at a young age. After losing her mother, she was raised by her grandparents and witnessed the incredible love and dedication her grandmother showed while caring for her and her siblings. Inspired by her grandmother's selflessness, Dorcas promised herself that one day she would return that same care. She was blessed to fulfill that promise by caring for her grandmother, who lived to the remarkable age of 121. That experience deepened her passion for supporting seniors and inspired her to pursue a career in caregiving.
After moving to Canada, Dorcas completed the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program, turning her lifelong passion into a profession. She describes herself as a passionate and compassionate caregiver who takes great pride in the work she does and the difference she makes in the lives of others every day.
When asked what she appreciates most about Home Instead, Dorcas shared that she values the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals in the community while continuing to expand her caregiving experience. Her warmth, dedication, and genuine compassion shine through in every interaction, making a meaningful difference in the lives of her clients.

July 2026 - Senait

We are proud to recognize Senait as this month's Caregiver of the Month for her compassion, dedication, and commitment to providing exceptional care.
Having been with Home Instead for one year and three months, Senait has made a meaningful difference in the lives of many clients. She first learned about Home Instead through her friend, Yordanos, who encouraged her to apply. Since joining the team, she has found great purpose and fulfillment in helping seniors and those in need.
With many years of experience working with older adults in Israel, Senait brought a strong foundation of caregiving experience to Home Instead. After moving to Canada, she completed the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program to further expand her knowledge and skills, allowing her to provide the highest quality of care.
Senait's passion for caregiving is also deeply personal. She cared for her grandmother, an experience that strengthened her compassion and reinforced her desire to support others with dignity and kindness.
When asked what she enjoys most about being a Home Instead CAREGiver, Senait shared that seeing her clients feel comfortable, supported, and happy because of the care she provides is the most rewarding part of her job. Her dedication and genuine care shine through in every interaction, making a lasting difference in the lives of those she serves.

Jan Ruby

January 2026 - Ruby

Ruby holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which she completed in India. She has been working with Home Instead for the past year and describes the experience as truly rewarding. Ruby is passionate about supporting older adults and feels a deep connection to the seniors she cares for. She enjoys engaging them in meaningful activities such as playing games, solving puzzles, and spending quality time together to bring joy and comfort into their daily lives.

Outside of work, Ruby enjoys dancing, cooking, and reading, and she has a strong interest in playing badminton. She is also currently learning crochet, as she enjoys exploring new skills and staying motivated and creative. Ruby is always eager to learn and grow, both personally and professionally, and looks forward to continuing her journey with Home Instead.

Vanshika Dec

December 2025 - Vanshika

Vanshika brings warmth, compassion, and dedication to every client she supports. Originally from India, she has a strong background in clinical settings and has confidently taken on roles in palliative care and support work.

Passionate about volunteering and helping others, Vanshika loves brightening days—whether through a kind word, offering comfort, or simply sharing a smile. She’s a proud dog lover and enjoys spending time with animals, reading, exploring her community, and forming meaningful connections. She enjoys creating content for social media  it gives her a way to express creativity, spread positivity, and share meaningful moments.

Family is at the heart of her life. Though her parents live in India, she shares a close bond with her brother. Vanshika takes pride in the resilience and empathy she’s developed through life’s challenges, and her positive, open mindset continues to inspire everyone around her.
