Jake

Jake Mitten, Owner and Managing Director

Jake has always enjoyed taking on new challenges in both his professional and personal life, which ultimately drove him to opening a Home Instead business. Working in a fast-paced sales environment, Jake developed the skills to build effective relationships and solve problems in collaborative and creative ways. A graduate of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at Wilfrid Laurier University, Jake is passionate about making a positive difference in peoples’ lives, and is truly thrilled he now has the opportunity to help others in the community through his work at Home Instead. He is striving to build the best home care company in Markham for both the seniors we serve and the caregivers we employ. Loyalty and patience are two of his key traits – evident in the fact he remains a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Tracy

Tracy Mitten, RN, Owner and Director of Client Care

Tracy has spent over 30 years as a nurse driven by her deep passion for improving people’s lives, with experience spanning nephrology, chronic disease management, and geriatric mental health. Most recently, she worked with Behavioural Supports Ontario and a geriatric outreach team supporting individuals in long-term care with dementia and complex behaviours, where she saw first-hand the growing need for more compassionate and reliable home care services. This realization inspired her to open a Home Instead franchise alongside her family in Markham, where she now channels her extensive nursing expertise into making a meaningful difference for seniors and their families. A proud graduate of Ryerson University’s BScN program, Tracy completed her degree part-time while raising three children—proof of her grit and unwavering dedication. Her passion for personalized, empathetic care continues to guide every decision she makes as a leader in the organization.

Leanne

Leanne Sealey, RPN, Client Care Manager

Leanne’s commitment to healthcare began with a simple love for helping others and has since grown into a meaningful career focused on both children and seniors. With several years of nursing experience, including her time at a children’s rehabilitation hospital and as a clinic coordinator, Leanne brings strong leadership and coordination skills to her role at Home Instead. As Client Care Manager, she oversees each step of the client journey—from the initial assessment and personalized care plan to quality assurance visits and Care Pro training—ensuring clients receive the thoughtful, high-quality care they deserve. Born in Markham but having moved outside the city later in life, Leanne is thrilled that she now gets to serve seniors in the community where she grew up. Known for her problem-solving mindset and hands-on approach, Leanne is constantly striving to find creative ways to support clients and their families. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her enjoying time with loved ones, trying new restaurants, or unwinding with a good show on Netflix.

Maddy

Maddy Mitten, Office Coordinator

Maddy brings positive energy and a strong sense of purpose to her role as Office Coordinator at Home Instead, where she supports both clients and caregivers through efficient scheduling, office operations, and caregiver engagement. With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Guelph and a strong interest in health and wellness, Maddy has always been passionate about healthcare and helping others. Her attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, and talent for building relationships make her an essential part of the team. She enjoys being in a role where she can make a tangible difference every day and contribute to the compassionate mission of Home Instead. Outside of the office, Maddy stays active through hiking and running, and loves spending quality time with family and friends. A country music fan at heart, she rarely misses a concert and is always planning her next travel adventure

Christina

Christina Gertzos, Hiring and Engagement Coordinator

Christina is a dedicated professional with a background in education and senior care. A graduate of the University of Guelph, Christina is passionate about people and brings a thoughtful, organized approach to her role as Hiring and Engagement Coordinator at Home Instead. With a background in education and a degree from the University of Guelph, she developed strong communication and mentorship skills through her experience in both academic and senior care settings. At Home Instead, Christina is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supporting a team of Care Professionals committed to delivering exceptional service. She also supports scheduling and client services as needed, helping ensure smooth operations across the business. Christina is known for her team-first mindset, attention to detail, and genuine interest in connecting with others. Outside of work, she enjoys going to the gym, baking, reading, and taking long walks with friends. A self-described summer enthusiast, Christina thrives in nature and at the cottage, and is inspired by the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of seniors and their families.

Selena Ramsaywakh, Lead Care Professional

Selena’s journey into senior care began with volunteer work in retirement homes during high school and came full circle when she left a career in the construction industry to follow her passion for helping others. Inspired by the challenges of the pandemic, she earned her certification as a Personal Support Worker and joined Home Instead, where her natural empathy and leadership skills quickly made her stand out. As a Lead Care Professional, Selena not only provides exceptional in-home care but also mentors other Care Pros, supports quality assurance efforts, and helps facilitate smooth client transitions. Her background in both administration and caregiving gives her a unique perspective that enhances every interaction. Outside of work, Selena enjoys outdoor family adventures, exploring her creative side through crafting with her daughter, and taking on the occasional escape room—she hopes to complete every one in the GTA. Her energy, care, and curiosity make her a beloved member of the Home Instead team
