"We engaged Home Instead to support my father after his return from the hospital, where he had been bedridden for several weeks and was quite weak. They responded quickly to our initial call and arranged a meeting with the general manager the very next day at the hospital to plan for my father’s discharge. Their team assisted with feeding, continence care and physiotherapy as my father gradually regained his strength. When he later transitioned to a higher-care residence, Home Instead continued to support him, helping him adjust to his new environment and daily routines. Every PSW who worked with my father was compassionate and attentive, showing genuine concern for his wellbeing. We are especially grateful for Rosemary’s care—she connected very well with my father. Home Instead also maintained detailed diary notes, which we found very helpful and were provided upon request. If you are seeking professional, reliable, and friendly care, I would highly recommend Home Instead."
"My wife Betty has been disabled since 2023 from the effects of osteoporosis, scoliosis and multiple fractures. Her mobility is strictly limited. Fortunately, she has received good support personal care from both CHATS (Community &Home Assistance to Seniors, Aurora) and Home Instead (Richmond Hill ). Home Instead supplies her with excellent PSWs twice weekly. We were also able to arrange Respite Care this summer, which allowed me to get away to visit family in Gatineau, Qc. I was able to explore the National Capital Region on my e-bike, knowing that Betty would get her meals prepared and be well cared for in my absence. I should add that the Home Instead office staff, Leanne and Kathleen, are always available and quick to respond to questions and/or make any needed adjustments. We are both in our mid 80s and under other circumstances, Long Term Care might be the only option. Rather than that, we are “Home Instead”. Thank you for your care and support!"
"Home Instead Newmarket was wonderful in promptly setting up the services to provide the care that my friend required to manage his dementia. Leanne was so helpful and understanding in selecting and managing the PSWs that our friend specifically needed. Charlene, Renee, Hawida, Joan and Olu were reliable, professional, knowledgeable and compassionate in the care they gave. It was not long before my friend responded and improved with their care. There journal notes that were sent to me were comprehensive and helped in providing information that I needed as POA of Care to make decisions. In addition when my friend moved from the Hospital to the Long Term Care Facility they provided transition care so my friend still had someone that he knew and liked with him while he got established in his new home. I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead Newmarket to my many friends and family."
"Home Instead came to our rescue when our father was abruptly discharged from his local hospital to his retirement home, in no condition for a retirement home to cope with him. He was falling frequently having had a major stroke and his hospital stay had coincidentally dried him out from a very serious alcohol problem that was going to require care. We needed him to be in hospital and they just didn't have room. Home Instead had caregivers on the ground super quickly and we were pretty relieved. Caregivers monitored him for us so that we could figure out our next actions at all times and they were with him 24/7 so that both his retirement home and his children knew what was going on. The caregivers were kind and supportive to him. He was very sad to see the caregivers go as he got better and we slowly withdrew hours/shifts. Staff were cooperative and pleasant at all times. It is an expensive thing to do, but we felt it was entirely worth it. Knowing what we know now, we will do it again if the circumstances arise."

"An unfortunate fall on June 2003, rendered me quadriplegic and as such, I require care and assistance for virtually all the basic activities for daily living. A great deal of this care and assistance is provided by PSWs and by other healthcare professionals from in home care companies/agencies. Home Instead is one of these companies. Since my injury, I’ve received assistance from numerous PSWs from a number of care companies. However, my current PSWs from Home Instead, who provide morning, evening and overnight care, have exceeded all my expectations. They are dependable and trust worthy, friendly yet professional, they work well in a team environment with my other professional care providers, they are good listeners and respectful; but above all, they are compassionate and truly caring individuals. Once they know what my needs are, they perform them with care and to my satisfaction. They are a reflection of the company itself whose management has a patient centric approach, is very accessible and visible. They keep me up to date with staffing issues or changes, they ask for, and welcome, my feedback and they listen to my concerns and together we work on solutions to ensure that my concerns are resolved. My spouse and I express our sincerest gratitude to both Home Instead and to its caregivers for their exceptional care services that I receive.
