Our theme for Care Pro of the Month is “Compassionate Champion,” and Honeybell embodies this completely. In a word, she is benevolent.
Recently, she cared for a client needing temporary support after a hospital stay. The client was hesitant to accept help, but Honeybell instantly put her at ease. With patience and empathy, she respected the client’s independence while ensuring her needs were met. By the end of their time together, the client felt so grateful and insisted on expressing her thanks with a heartfelt card and praise for Honeybell’s kindness.
Honeybell also supports a client living with dementia. Her deep understanding and gentle encouragement have made a lasting impact. She helps the client feel heard, valued, and engaged, even when words fail her. On one joyful day, they danced together to Edith’s favorite music. On more difficult days, Honeybell holds her hand, offering comfort and reassurance when confusion sets in.
In a recent note, she shared: “My client told me she’s missing her family. That really touched me, so I gave her a big hug and reminded her she is loved and they’ll be visiting later.”
