Janet Hassell, Owner and President
Janet brings a diverse background to the Home Instead organization. With over 40 years’ experience managing people, customer service, sales, and marketing, it has been helpful with structuring, organizing, implementation of policies, and the overall development and growth of the company. Janet has a hands-on approach and is dedicated to providing the best care possible for our seniors in Victoria.
Janet is committed to making Home Instead the best place to work. She has a strong relationship with her staff and together with their caring and compassionate “can do attitude”; they are becoming the provider of choice. Janet loves meeting our clients and offering solutions for their needs and ensuring the best possible care will enhance their lives.
In her free time, Janet loves spending time with her 2 daughters, sons in law and 5 grandchildren. She also loves to read and travel.

Sam Grant - General Manager
Meet Sam Grant, the General Manager of Home Instead Victoria. With over a decade of leadership in in-home senior care, Sam brings a wealth of experience and dedication to our team. Previously, Sam spent 20 years with Fortune 500 companies, honing skills in management and strategic planning. As an inspirational leader and mentor, Sam is passionate about advocating for seniors, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. Their commitment to excellence and deep understanding of the industry's nuances make Sam an invaluable asset to our organization and the community we serve.

Marina Taylor, Human Resources Manager
Prior to joining the Home Instead team in 2010, Marina worked in the corporate world with focus on communication, employment recognition and engagement strategies. Marina enjoys public speaking and has a passion for helping people learn more about caring for people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. She is also a certified Dementia Trainer and Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA).
Marina enjoys making a difference in the lives of seniors as a member of our Home Instead team. Her primary focus is to ensure the best recruitment, training & retention strategies to seek out, train, and retain Care Professionals who are committed to provide exceptional care for our clients. She also presents at job fairs, oversees communication projects, and promotes team building.
Her optimism and compassion shines through in all that she does. She has played many roles in the development of the company by assisting with the creation of individual departments, policies, procedures, and marketing support. With a background in employee relations, she is a valued Manager who is dedicated to the overall success of the company.
Marina loves Italian food and spending time with her family, as well as a game of Pickleball.

Lacey Lanktree, Home Care Manager
Lacey is an experienced and compassionate leader in Senior's in-home care and an advocate for aging adults in Victoria.
Lacey serves as our Home Care Manager in Victoria, responsible for the standard of care, overseeing our fabulous Care Professionals and providing support for all new clients in Victoria.
After growing up in Elliot Lake, ON, known to be one of the top retirement communities in Canada, she completed her Undergrad in Sociology and Psychology at Trent University. From there, she completed her Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Gerontology at Simon Fraser University and has been working in the Home Health industry ever since.
Her passion is to help maintain a safe and familiar environment for our aging population, allowing them to age-in-place from the comfort of their own home.
Lacey also serves as Vice Chair & Secretary for the Elder Friendly Community Network on Vancouver Island.

Fiona Hickey, Lead Scheduling Coordinator, Victoria
Dedicated and compassionate, Fiona brings a heartwarming enthusiasm for seniors to their role as a Scheduler at Home Instead Victoria. With a keen sense of organization and a commitment to enhancing the lives of our elderly clients, Fiona seamlessly orchestrates schedules, ensuring optimal caregiver-client matches. Their passion extends beyond logistics, as Fiona actively seeks ways to create meaningful connections and enrich the daily experiences of our seniors.

Michelle Man, Lead Scheduling Coordinator
Michelle felt the emotional and physical toll that Alzheimer’s Disease had on her father and on her family as the illness worsened throughout the years. It was a blessing they had help from Home Care Support which made it possible for her family to keep their father at home with his loved ones. It was so inspiring that Michelle began her senior care journey as a Home Care Worker during her University years to help other families in the same situation.
After graduation from University, Michelle enjoyed much success in the corporate world in progressive roles ranging from Project Management, Training, Operation Management, and Client Services. Despite a busy work life in the past 20 years, her passion for serving seniors has not dimmed. She has volunteered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and various organizations for seniors. When she saw the Home Instead Tagline: To Us it’s Personal, it really resonated with her. She is excited to leverage her skills and experience to complete the full circle working with such an amazing and compassionate organization helping seniors continue to live their best life.
Michelle enjoys foodie adventures with family & friends, loves to play badminton & tennis, and work on DIY and upcycle projects on her free time.

Tiffany Gaschler, After Hours On-Call Client Care Coordinator
Tiffany has been a Registered Nurse BScN, RN for the past 5 years with experience in the areas of medicine/surgery, stroke rehabilitation, psychiatry, as well as mental health and detox. She also had the opportunity to manage nursing homes where she fell in love with caring for seniors. Tiffany has been working for Home Instead doing after hours on-call for almost a year now and enjoy being able to help Care professionals and Clients.
Tiffany is kind, compassionate, honest, problem solver, easy going, positive with affiliative leadership/management style. Her personal goal is to run another marathon in the near future.
Tiffany loves spending time with her husband and son and doing anything outdoors. She keeps physically active with weightlifting, walking, running, figure skating and snowboarding in the winter months, wakeboarding, swimming, and surfing in the summer months.
