"After my husband got sick with a chronic disease I didn’t know from where to start And his health got declined day after day and I was the only care giver for him , specially I want to Keep him home
But after the care coordinator introduced Home Instead to me I felt so relieved for so so many years
I can’t forget the last couple of years before he passed away
I had Two care givers (PSW )
I think I am blessed to have them in our life and they are the best and I don’t think I could find someone else’s like them
The care they gave him it’s beyond anyone expectations from keeping him happy relax laughing and endless love to the last stage of his life
When I am writing this I feel very emotional
I really myself missing both of them And specially their boss too I used to talk to her on the phone a lot and we never met until my husband came out from the hospital on October 2022 what a big heart she has God Bless her she wanted to keep us happy and comfortable all the time
And my husband was so happy and comfortable with them and that’s a good sign and it’s all matter
I consider myself blessed and lucky to Have Home Instead service"

"My dad turned 90 during a short stay in the hospital.
As family we made the decision to try to care for him at home while awaiting a Nursing home bed even though his daily needs were increasing due to hus Alzheimer's and Dementia. Dad had multiple needs and so was discharged home with PSW support. HomeInstead was the agency assigned to us.
Prior to dad coming home, mum and myself met with Daniella who made us feel comfortable at the get go.
We were assigned multiple PSW"s, but there was trouble taken from the agencies end by Ethel and team to make sure there was consistency with staff and also the staff that came over were pleasant, kind, gentle and very competent in Alzheimer's care delivery.
They attended to my dad's needs and extended their kindness to my mum ( who is very fragile) which made a world of difference. 😀

"Home Instead is a wonderful agency that is very understanding of my needs. I've been getting care from Home Instead for a while, and the caregivers I have are always kind and professionals. Connie and her team are always ready to help with any queries or changes I need. I've had Diljoban as my caregiver for more than a year, and she's always been attentive and understanding of my health condition and she's a part of our family now. "Delicia Davis is a exceptional Service Coordinator at homestead she was so helpful finding the perfect psws to take care of my mother and who had suffered a major stroke. Delicia was very professional and compassionate with our situation which helped us in such difficult time, you could tell that she is very passionate about her job and dedicated to helping her clients.

"Home Instead is a wonderful agency that provides very caring and professional caregivers. We were receiving services for four months and then we were transferred to another agency. I recently became eligible for respite hours and was thrilled when I was told that the caregivers would be coming from Home Instead. Pleasant and friendly services from the coordinators, staff and my girls , who are very knowledgeable of my mom’s needs. My mind is completely at ease when I know she is in their care Archana , is one of our favourites - she keeps my mom entertained and happy throughout the duration of her shift. She is like one of my very own daughters and we love her. Vishali is one of our other favourites who we also adore. She makes sure my mom gets her exercises and meets all her needs. Nidhi is also high up on our list of faves because she is chatty , funny and loves to entertain us with her humour and positive energy. All the girls are punctual and we feel like they’re part of our family. Thank you HOME INSTEAD for always meeting our requests and for your kindness, professionalism and friendliness ! "We have been with Home Instead for several years and anytime we call the office they have been so helpful. We have had the same caregiver for over 1 year now Gurpreet and she is so amazing and professional. My son requires the services. He is non verbal and Gurpreet always comes with a smile on her face and talks to my son as she was having a conversation with someone who is verbal. He is kept clean and comfortable when she is caring for our son. We our so grateful she is our son’s caregiver. One more thing to mention as the people are so professional and well organized , Danielle called and introduced herself and advised what her position is dealing with my son which we appreciate and so we have a name and contact information should we have any issues. Also to mention Arden is also another contact for our son’s team and she is also very professional and assists us with our requests we may. In the end if I were to choose an agency to assist with my sons care most definitely we would have Home Instead off Mississauga."

"We have only the best things to say about Home Instead and the way they went above and beyond to take care of our Mom.
Our companion Miriam was truly a gift! She learned about Mom and what she enjoyed, and then ensured her findings were incorporated into Mom’s daily routine. She cooked and shopped for Mom, played games, sang songs and went for walks. She even attended medical and hair appointments.
On several occasions Mom had to go to emergency and Miriam waited with her for hours. Sometimes she worked a double shift without even being asked. She is truly a treasure and we will be forever grateful to her and to Home Instead for all their compassion, help and support.
If you’re looking for home care for your parent or spouse we highly recommend this company!"

"Hi Folks, my name is Fraser and I'd like to share some of my family's experience with Home Instead and their staff. We found ourselves in a rather urgent situation with my father, who suffers from dementia. With one phone call and a couple of emails, I was able to arrange for a Caregiver to be with my dad within two days of contacting Home Instead. This addressed our immediate concerns regarding my dad's wellbeing, and that of others, which was critical in our case. Once the Caregivers were on site with my dad, his behavior issues were overcome with communication, compassion and caring. My dad started referring to his Caregiver as his co-worker during the daily visits, which was a nice way to think of my dad's day. The interaction of the Caregivers that spent time with my dad every day, along with the staff at Credit River Retirement, made my dad's time much more enjoyable and engaging for him, which was our goal.
Home Instead were extremely helpful at a critical time, and their response was a huge relief for our family. Thank you!"

"Connie and the team have been fantastic caring for my brother-in-law who passed away just this month (January 2023). He sorely missed his wife since her passing in May 2020 and spent many days in hospital. At Amica City Center he was receiving excellent care but we needed more hours. Based on referral from other family members, I contacted Home Instead. So glad I did, and we arranged 24/7 care.
Home Instead provided excellent day and night shift Care Givers who came to know and care for him. They were there whenever he needed support, helping with his meals, taking him to resident activities, etc. They also worked well with Amica City Centre nurses and PSWs, plus the Home and Community Care Support Services - Mississauga Halton.
The office staff, Navdeep and her coworkers always kept me up to date when shift changes were needed. Every Care Giver from Home Instead provided excellent care and knew when to call for nursing support and when to call me. I always got excellent updates either on visits or by phone.
It was very busy with the comings and goings of other care providers from Amica City Centre, the Palliative team, deliveries of medication, and it was so helpful to me as prime family contact to know that medical supplies, meals and laundry were handled.
Darshika, Sandeep, Shaifali and especially Lovepreet deserve commendation for caring for my broker-in-law over the three months he was in their care and especially when he finally was able to join his beloved ‘beautiful wife’, my sister!"

"HI recently provided services to our 95 yr-old mom in Mississauga. We were in a bind and needed immediate support urgently for 2-3 days. We contacted HI on a weekend afternoon and HI was able to provide qualified staff that same night! We weren't expecting that but we're grateful HI could help us. 2 days into providing services HI's manager came and saw our mom herself, just to check on her and make sure everything was going well related to HI's services. Amazing! Above and beyond the call of duty. Extremely pleased with HI's service, and HI's staff are top notch. Needless to say we highly recommend HI."

"Home Instead is providing wonderful care for my husband. I wish to recognize Amandeep….the first caregiver I came to know. The word CARE describes Amandeep: C for Compassion; A for Attention; R for Responsibility; and E for Enthusiam. Amandeep shows COMPASSION in the care of Willson who is bedridden and struggling with some dementia. Nothing bothers her. She pays ATTENTION to all details required for his care. Amandeep definitely takes on her role as caregiver with RESPONSIBILITY. And with ENTHUSIASM ! She smiles. Willson smiles from the attention and care he receives. Amandeep will do anything required of her to give comfort and peace to Willson. I feel blessed that Home Instead is assisting Willson - and therefore me as well - as we move along in life. "My almost 90 year old mom was diagnosed with dementia 6 years ago. Due to a recent cognitive decline she is no longer safe to be left alone. My goal has always been to take care of her at home. With the help of my siblings we have shared duties staying with mom. However work and life demands of all of us we knew we needed to get some extra help. After investigating many senior care companies, I decided to hire Home Instead. What a great decision! The office staff is very efficient, professional and accommodating. Mom loves her PSW who is kind, caring and cognizant of her needs to keep her safe and comfortable. My experience with Home Instead is a very positive one. I would not hesitate to recommend them. "I have received respite care from Home Instead as I have been caring for my Mom who now is 93, by myself. It has been 2 years of service and the ladies that come in here are wonderful, caring and so good to my Mother AND me. In September I was diagnosed with quite a large blood clot in my leg and had to go on bedrest. Home Instead immediately increased my hrs. as I could only get up on my feet every 2 hrs. for 15 minutes leaving my Mother with basically no help. When Dorothy arrived for her 3 hr. shift she immediately went to work! She organized the kitchen, cleaned my fridge up and cooked us a beautiful dinner. She made us both lunch and kept checking in on both of us which was so nice. Every day her workload never ended. Dorothy wouldn't sit down and have a break at all until everything was done then she sits with my Mom to have a "blether". She organized things that she really didn't have to but did it because that's the type of caring, hard working person she is. She taught me some new dishes as well and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My Mother's many chats with Dorothy are such a delight for her as her hearing is at 7% and her ability to hear conversations are diminishing. I love how Dorothy slows her speech and found the right pitch that my Mom could hear and converse. My Mother looks forward to her visits as they talk about a common ground both living in Scotland. Thank you Dorothy for walking in and easing my burden at such a stressful time. I will forever be grateful to you.

"Well, I decided to take the support of HISC as I had undergone ACL(knee ligament) reconstruction surgery. It was hard for me to even walk without a support of crutches or a walker and I had to go for a professional support. After I did great amount of research on internet and with few references I came across HISC. Trust me my decision of choosing HSIC was right as I got the best assistance from all the caregivers and service coordinators especially 'Aliyah De Barros', a big shout out to her!!
I was provided caregivers of my choice who could cook the kind of food I wanted to eat, who could help me with household work an be a great companion throughout. I roughly took support for a month and I did request at times to make certain changes in very short notice due to my other appointments. I was happily provided support by Aliyah. She has been the best so are others from HISC.
I would highly recommend friends who are seeking professional caregiver support with the touch of friendly companionship to simply call HSIC. Although I am too young to be called a senior person, I was provided care with the best of affection and care I could ever ask for."

"The service from all who work at Home Instead has been great for our mother. I would give them a 5 star, however I am not for a very specific reason. Our mother uses Home Instead as an addition to the existing Government agency (which was not enough for her care provisions). Because of this combination requirement, she is eligible to get back all of her HST paid with the Home Instead Service. There is a form (and it's tedious and your Accountant will charge you extra for it) that needs to be filled out and then you get all that HST back. That is a lot of money for a Senior on a fixed income. If you are using private to supplement the government services -- please please look into it! It's too bad that the this supplier puts that burden on the purchaser/consumer."

"This is the second time we have used Home Instead and, once again, the service was superb. The office staff were supportive, responsive and very well organized. Our caregiver, Irene, immediately established a rapport with my mother, who had just been discharged from hospital. Irene was friendly, kind, resourceful and careful. At one point, she felt a developing situation required her to check with me to see how she should proceed. I was very impressed that she recognized a need for more input but, once we had discussed the problem, she followed through flawlessly. I felt I could have complete confidence in her ability to care for my mother, and keep me informed on developments. Wonderful!"

"I am the primary caregiver to my 90 yr old Mother for 7 years now. It was becoming quite overwhelming as I was not getting quality time with my family or for myself. An anxiety attack sent me to the Dr. where they set me up with caregiver respite. Kerri started with us 1 year ago and what a difference for us all. I had a very hard time giving over the reins for a few hours the first few weeks I must admit, but Kerri proved herself and i began to see my Mom looking forward to her visits. Kerri has a warmth about her and always smiling. She gets my Mom laughing and chatting. It didn't take long for me to relax and put my trust in Kerri. Home Instead always keeps me up to date and solves my issues efficiently. Receiving help was the best thing for us and allows me to continue doing what I do for my Mother."

"Our family would like to give a shout out to Home Instead for the great care they are currently providing for our aging parents. Both parents are in their 90s. One with Alzheimer’s and limited mobility, the other with a blood disease and experiencing a significant decline in overall health. We’ve had great communication with Home Instead’s office team and Agnes, the Care Coordinator, who does so much to help with our ever changing schedule and care needs. The biggest thanks goes out to Care Giver Jennifer. Most importantly, she has become a reliable advocate for our father’s care during his endless appointments and hospital visits. She is very patient and a great listener. She is very compassionate and soft spoken. I also shared how my mother needs more support as well and she said that she’ll advocate for her. "Only 8 weeks after I was finally able to get my Dad admitted into a facility that could deal with his dementia, my Mom was in a traffic accident. She suffered a concussion that affected her cognitive abilities. Her needs and the required appointments for assessments and therapies were overwhelming to both her and me. I worried about her constantly and she was very stressed. Through Home Instead Mississauga, we found the help we needed in the caregiver Colleen. I cannot say enough about her. She is wonderful with my Mom. She has incredible patience, is inordinately efficient, and engenders trust. After Colleen’s visits, my Mom is calmer, more positive and less prone to the crippling anxiety that has dogged her since the accident. Colleen goes well beyond the job description and is proactive in addressing my Mom’s needs. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to this remarkable caregiver. Colleen you are amazing! Thank you! My interactions with the administrators at Home Instead are also of note. They are unfailingly pleasant, professional and sympathetic beyond the job description. They were flexible about the arrangements when I needed them to be. They care, not only for the “client” but also for the primary caregiver, like me. They provided me with a metaphorical shoulder to cry on when the stress of the situation threatened to undo me, including a follow up email the next day to make sure I was okay. "My family has been using Home Instead's services for less than a year, but in this short timeframe I have found their services to be invaluable. Home Instead matched our mother up with two fantastic caregivers - Marilou and Mary Jane - whose visits she looks forward to every week. The caregivers are kind, thoughtful, respectful, and compassionate. They do a fantastic job at communicating to us what happens during the course of each visit - I look forward to reading the detailed notes they leave in the Communication Binder. They have also shown a great deal of patience and understanding with our mother's short-term memory issues, going so far as to leave notes reminding her to "drink water" or "have a snack". "Our family is so grateful to Home Instead Mississauga for the companions that have visited our brother! He bonded completely with the first person that was brought to him and we were devastated when that person decided to move on to a different phase of his life, but the second gentleman has also made friends with our brother and continues to fill a very important role that no care home can possibly fill; personal talk about subjects of interest to both of them. The office staff is always so helpful I think they all have wings because they have been absolute angels."

"Writing this review for the caregivers that supported my dad over an approximate 75 day period of need (and one that has provided monthly services for many years!). My dad took a drastic turn for the worse and was living alone - with family not being local and unable to accommodate him in home, we turned to Home Instead for support. All the caregivers were wonderful. I thank the day time ladies who provided short duration lunchtime support and care (Oma, Mercy and Ruth), and have to give a giant "shout out" to Gwen who provided the night-care "sleep over" service. She always supported with the utmost of patience and attention - above and beyond our expectations - allowing my dad to continue living with dignity until his move to a long term care facility. Kudo's to all (including Paul, our main contact who, along with the admin and supervisory team made scheduling and all other issues easy to navigate) - couldn't have asked for a better support group!"

"When my Grandmother became acutely ill there came a point where we could see that she had become weak and needed someone with her at all times to ensure her comfort and safety. I called Home Instead and they literally had someone there within fifteen minutes to assess the situation and a caregiver arrived within less than an hour. They provided round the clock support for her from that moment until we no longer needed them. The care and responsiveness was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. I highly recommend Home Instead."

"When my Mom was diagnosed with dementia, I was at a loss as to how to help her. I can't say enough aboWe were faced with a huge challenge. Our Mother - who lives with dementia - required to have ongoing radiation treatments every day for 6 weeks. 30 total appointments. All family members were either too far away geographically or could not manage this daily for 6 weeks because of work commitments. Because of her dementia, our Mother could not navigate taxis or even volunteer drivers as these are literally door-to-door pick up and drop off. We were so happy to find Home Instead as they matched us with a PSW Caregiver that daily came to our Mom's room in the Senior Residence, helped to get her ready, then drove her to the appointment, stayed with her through the treatment appointment and then saw her back to her room safely each day. This Caregiver was excellent in everything that she did. I don't find it easy to hand off care of my Mother - because of her dementia - to just anyone, and the Home Instead Team and Caregiver immediately won my support and trust. Now the daunting requirement of getting to 30 hospital appointments was something that became routine and not worrisome to us, the family. We could not have found a better or more convenient and effective solution to our need than Home Instead. I would recommend them fully if you need transportation services where more than just a pick up and drop off is required. Our Caregiver's name was Ruth and she was amazing from beginning to end! Thank you Home Instead ut the care and compassion she has received from her caregiver, Marilisa at Home Instead. "I can't say enough wonderful things about this agency. I contacted them because my grandmother needed some extra support that the family was not able to provide. Home Instead has exceeded my expectations.
Diane (head co-ordinator) met with my grandmother and I personally and matched her up with a CAREGiver that fit with my grandmother's personality. To say that my grandmother was reluctant to receive help in the beginning is an understatement! She actually would not let anyone in the house. Now she looks forward to her regular weekly visits and shares with me some of the enjoyable visits that she has had. Her CAREGiver helps with various tasks (paying bills, grocery shopping), has escorted her to doctor's appointments and provides company - often having lunch together and/or sharing stories over a cup of tea.
I live quite a distance from my grandmother so having the help of this agency has been invaluable. They are in constant communication with me about their visits which gives me peace of mind.

Home Instead came to my rescue. From the first encounter, the administration people were professional, courteous and helpful. They listened to my needs and were able to provide male CAREGivers to look after his personal care and to provide companionship.
All of the CAREGivers were warm friendly and very caring. They treated my husband with respect, took him for walks and made him laugh. They were also helpful with household chores such as preparing meals, cleaning the kitchen and folding laundry.

Both of my parents have been living with us for 6 years and with my mom’s Alzheimer’s deteriorating it is imperative for me to have some "away time" or "me time". First of all, let me state categorically I am delighted with the personal care and attention bestowed upon Mother by, “her girls”, as she called them, and the apparent love she received during her recovery. It was very comforting for me to know she was in good hands while I was away and out of the Country.
I am also pleased with the personal attention afforded Mother by your Administration. Her specific needs were properly identified and addressed well within 24 hours of my making contact. I would soon learn there was no need to worry while away.
Upon my return I was delighted to see a new person. Mother had recovered from her ailment, the twinkle in her eyes had returned, and she had found her sense of humour. Her recovery was short of simply amazing.
We have cancelled our care agreement, as Mother wants to return to her private life. She feels confident and capable of looking after herself and preparing her own meals. I could not ask for a better indication she is back to her normal self.

Although I am totally satisfied with the care given mom by their staff, I wanted to have an additional, outside, CAREGiver to give mom extra special friendship and care and also interface with me on a weekly basis so that I could stay totally updated with mom and her well being. I've been very happy with the extra care given mom by your assigned CAREGiver Kathy and also by Paula before her. I was able to talk to mom on the phone at first, but lately mom is not able to hear very well, so Kathy keeps me informed with a weekly phone call. Home Instead has also provided for extra care such as taking mom to her hearing specialist to get her new hearing aids fitted and also taking her to the hospital for a check up after she fractured her arm. These additional services are very important to me. Mom's welfare is my first priority. Overall, I am very happy with the services of Home Instead and would not hesitate to recommend your company."

Paul Alavathil, the scheduling coordinator was not only quick to put "the ladies in place" but also anticipated our needs ahead of time and never said "sorry that's not possible with such short notice"! There was no time that we required assistance that it was not available to us.
