Home Instead's “BE A SANTA TO A SENIOR 2021” – at the FINISH LINE!!

Home Instead’s 2021 “BE A SANTA TO A SENIOR” is nearing the finish line and we are excited for the strong show the campaign has had so far!!

It is a wonderful feeling to have the community come together so strongly, in such difficult circumstances (Omicron…need we say more) and support our Burnaby seniors. Our annual “BE A SANTA TO A SENIOR” program is a humble effort to connect with the seniors in our community and show how valued they are. As part of the 2021 campaign Home Instead Burnaby will be providing holiday gifts to roughly 300 seniors in our area.

As of Dec 17, Team Home Instead is proud to have collected 350+ gifts for our community seniors and the personalized packing and delivery of the gifts will be completed next week, right in time for the holidays!

We send heartfelt thanks to friends and patrons at London Drugs, the Chaffe Burke Elementary school and our many volunteers who worked tirelessly to arrange holiday cheer for the entire community.

A special thanks to the staff and our little friends at the Chaffe Burke elementary school (pic inset) for creating such beautiful, personalized cards with holiday wishes for seniors. And their support did not stop with just the postcards, as students also bought gifts for seniors, saving money by doing extra chores at home!! We are grateful to these students for their kind participation towards this project.

Many thanks to the support and coordination with the entire team at London Drugs for hosting the Christmas tree at their store (4970 Kingsway Ave, Burnaby), carrying ornaments with seniors’ gift wishes on them.

Team Home Instead is proud to be recognized locally for its 2021 Be a Santa to a Senior campaign by the Burnaby Now and the Burnaby Beacon. Such coverage shows how small, thoughtful gestures from all of us can make a big difference in the lives of lonely seniors within the community.
