I was in a bind. I needed a caregiver for my parents for a two week trip to Ontario. It ended up being a bit last minute and it was certainly much more than I was hoping to pay, however Homestead did a fabulous job from the intake to the first in person meeting to all the follow up and follow through. They were terrific. One drawback was that we did not have the same Caregiver each day which made it a little bit difficult for my parents and it also meant I needed to be there every morning to walk the new person through what needed to be done and how it gets done. We also had one Caregiver that was on her phone the entire time or most of the morning, which was very unprofessional. **Carlee was the lead nurse she followed up. She followed through whenever I had any issues and she was absolutely lovely if we come back to Ontario I would definitely give home instead of call.

I am an active, healthy widower with a vision disability, who highly values an independent-living lifestyle, but requires a little additional support to live my life comfortably at home as long as possible. I lost my spouse in 2022. In February 2026 I decided to get some in-home personal support (no healthcare). A Google search for in-home personal support care services led me to Home Instead. I called a friend and retired CEO of a similar company to find out if he had heard of Home Instead. He was aware of my needs and remarked that Home Instead was indeed "the best in the business" and would be perfect for my needs. I trusted my friend GG's assessment, and I am so glad I did. Based on my experience, Home Instead Seniors In-Home Care service and staff have been truly exceptional by every measure. I give then a 5 Stars rating. At the initial service engagement meeting, Home Instead service coordinator (Shannon) met with me at my home to develop a comprehensive, very flexible, tailor-made service plan that detailed my current support needs. The plan is for 3 days a week, four hours each day support. My services package includes housekeeping, laundry and ironing, occasional cooking, grocery and other store/mall shopping, accompanying to medical appointments, out-door neighborhood walks (weather permitting) , etc. The built-in flexibility allows for modifications, as necessary and with timely notification to the company, in order to update my personal service schedule. This has worked smoothly for us. Another very important aspect of Home Instead Services is the matching of service providers (PSW), based on the Co-ordinator's assessed compatibility of a particular PSW to the client. This may include provider's related skills, experience, personal suitability, etc. The company made an excellent match in assigning PSW Carolyn to me. We operate very well together, as family or close friends. (The company commits to work with the client until an acceptable match is achieved). I have been fortunate to have been matched-up with service provider PSW Carolyn. She is an outstanding person with exceptional skills. She is a highly skilled, dedicated and experienced caregiver, is friendly, dependable, compassionate and demonstrates a high degree of initiative. She is a take-charge, confident, responsible and respectful service provider. She represents Home Instead very well. Thank You, Carolyn! We reached out to Home Instead to see what help they could provide in caring for our Mom who has started to show signs of dementia. Traian Rusu came to the house and did a thorough assessment of our needs. We started out with 3 days a week so as to give Dad a break. Fatima was assigned to us. She is wonderful. She would keep mom company, do math puzzles with her, do up her hair. Do exersizes with her. She is so gentle with her. Fatima is pure Gold. All aspects of this process from contact to getting Fatima was fast, and smooth. Would recommend.
