Caregiver Responsibilities
The most important and rewarding responsibility you'll have as a Home Instead caregiver is to develop a meaningful relationship with your client. We keep seniors safe, comfortable and engaged at home with:
- Companionship and conversation
- Hands-on assistance with activities of daily living, including ambulation, bathing, dressing and toileting
- Light housekeeping and meal preparation
- Transportation for errands and appointments
- Medication reminders
- Specialized care like dementia and hospice support
To work for Home Instead, you must:
- Demonstrate a passion for working with seniors with relevant caregiving experience
- Be a good listener and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Pass a criminal background check, MVA check and drug screen
- Provide references for your caregiving ability
- Live in or adjacent to Harford and/or Cecil County
- Possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance
- Maintain good physical health, with the ability to lift 25 lbs
- Have current negative TB / PPD test (cannot be more than one year old)
