At Home Instead, we are always excited to get out in the community and support not just local seniors but also senior organizations that provide support and services to people in our area. Recently, we had the privilege of attending and sponsoring the dinner portion of the Wearable Art runway show, organized by The Oak Harbor Senior Center Foundation and the City of Oak Harbor Parks and Recreation.
The Wearable Art Show, now in its third annual edition, is a fundraiser benefiting the Oak Harbor Senior Center Foundation. Artists craft complete ensembles from repurposed materials, which are then showcased in a captivating fashion show. Unlike previous years, artists were given the freedom to express themselves without specific guidelines or themes, highlighting the versatility of repurposed materials.
Proceeds from the Wearable Art Show contribute to supporting the Oak Harbor Senior Center Foundation, which plays a crucial role in funding programs and initiatives beyond the basic operational costs covered by the city.
