- By Maureen R.My family and I had the pleasure of working with Pamela B. while my mother was in hospice, January-March 2024. Home Instead was the third company we had engaged with since June 2023. I am so impressed and pleased with our interaction, that I feel compelled to write about our experience and the woman who deserves immense credit, Pamela.
As a small business owner in the Boston area, I have worked with numerous employees. Pamela impressed me from our original meeting at my mom’s home. She is professional, thorough, and explained in great detail the HI operation and what we could expect. Pamela shared her contact information saying, “please call anytime”. Before leaving she asked my mom directly if she needed anything else. Her compassionate behavior stays with me to this day. Pamela would accompany new aides to make the proper introduction to our mom. I sensed that the aides and she shared a good rapport.
I had emailed her on a Saturday afternoon with the thoughts she would respond the following Monday. She surprised me by responding that day. As my mom’s health deteriorated, we found ourselves overwhelmed. At one point, my sister sent an email requesting more help asap, Pamela provided coverage by the next day. When my mom’s decline hastened, Pamela stopped by my mother’s home. Her calm presence was reassuring to both my sister and I. She went as far as to visit my mom who was now in a hospital bed. That single act spoke of her humanity and respect for my mother.
As you are aware, the prospect of watching a parent decline is something words can’t truly describe. Pamela softened the edges, and for this we are grateful.
Home instead has done a wonderful job with my grandmother. She’s had the same nurse for several years now and is practically part of the family. We couldn’t have asked for better care.

Only place I trust to take care of Dad
Home Instead Senior Care provides us personal care, food assistance, and light housekeeping. The have very good billing and scheduling. My husband is very comfortable with his caregiver, and it has been all good so far. I have recommended this agency because of the credentials and the professionalism of the caregivers.
Our family uses Home Instead to provide companion care for our 93 year old mother. Mom receives care 3 hours per day, 7 days a week. Mom loves her caregivers Robin and Gail. We couldn't be happier.
