Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and for your interest in our services. I was first introduced to Home Instead Senior Care when I started working at Home Instead Senior Care's Global Headquarters. I was the Business Performance Manager for the owners of Home Instead Senior Care offices throughout Canada and nine states in the U.S. Through these experiences I quickly realized how so many lives were being positively impacted by the flexible and customized services we could offer. At the same time, my family was caring for our grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and the realities of caring for an aging loved one affected my outlook on how care could be delivered. Victoria and I knew we could play a critical role in caring for others and this aligned with our passions.

Every day we educate and inform families about our flexible services, how they can be customized, and about our team who is dedicated to going above and beyond to provide peace of mind and quality care to our clients. We share that we can help our clients and families take control of their care - on their terms. We want families to know that just as our business is family owned they can count on us to treat their loved ones as we would treat our own family.

​Victoria is responsible for training all of our CAREGivers in our Alzheimer's CARE Training. She also conducts educational workshops in the community on Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias, directed at individuals who are interested in learning more about this disease.

​My name is Karin Ferrell and I am the Operations Manager here at Home Instead Senior Care. I come from a fairly large family and growing up in a small town I was raised to always put others before myself. This shows up every day here at Home Instead Senior Care when we go the extra mile to make an impossible situation possible. Since the age of 13 when I started my first job in the customer service industry, I've always known that I receive the greatest satisfaction from helping others. As a single mom to 3 children and a dog, I understand how stressful life can get when it seems like the world is spinning out of control. Here at Home Instead Senior Care we help put the minds of our clients and family members at ease assuring them that we will deliver on the exemplary care that has come to be expected by us in our community. A large portion of my role is devoted to taking any inquiries regarding our services and to ensure those inquiring about service know that we care and are here to help. Bridget Holmes, Scheduling Coordinator

​The moment I set foot into the Home Instead Senior Care office I was so taken back by how warm and welcoming the atmosphere is. In my role as Staff Coordinator, I am entrusted to make sure our CAREGivers are appropriately scheduled for our clients to meet their needs. I graduated from Fanshawe College completing the Office Administration Program and have found my skills have aligned well with my role in the office. I joined Home Instead because of the company culture to treat seniors with dignity and respect. Everyone is so 'on-board' with the culture here and it resonated with me so clearly. I enjoy interacting with our CAREGivers and our clients and at the end of the day I rest well knowing that I've been able to help meet our clients needs and provide peace of mind to our families.​​

My name is Laura Smith.  I know without a doubt that God guided me to find this opportunity and in all I do I will lead with my faith and my heart!  In my role, I am lucky enough to be able to establish relationships with our wonderful CAREGivers and Clients.  My passion in each interaction is to show them that they matter and that they are seen, heard and understood.  Lead by my faith in God and my big heart my hope is that they know what a big difference we are all making together.  I am the proud mother of two young men and two adorable dogs.  One of my passions is to take a drive while belting out tunes with the windows down, reading, going on hikes and cooking.  I am so excited to be part of Home Instead team.

​I stepped into my role as the Client Experience Supervisor with ease and grace thanks to my 15+ years in the customer service & management fields. In my personal & professional life I always wanted to be available to offer a helping hand, an open ear and mind to anyone who needed it. My personal goals of ensuring that people can trust me, rely on me and my ability to effectively communicate have fallen hand and hand here at Home Instead Senior Care. Each time I reach out to our clients and their families, I offer my heart so they know and feel just how much we care and how we will go above & beyond to ensure their loved ones are happy, safe & comfortable.

My role at Home Instead Senior Care has brought a new perspective to my life and I am thankful and excited to work for a company that is dedicated to improving the lives of seniors and their families. ​I'm Nancy Richer, Client Care Coordinator with Home Instead Senior Care. My career has been devoted to healthcare and I began my nursing career in 1996. Although I no longer practice, my knowledge base has included roles in Public Hospital management, Long Term Care administration, and I started my career as a floor nurse in Neuro Trauma, working in the United States, Northern Ontario and here in London. To help someone so that they can have quality of life is the best part of the job. Tasks are things that can be done very easily but building a bond of trust and a relationship is key to success, and that is what we do here at Home Instead. I am honored to be a part of such a great team, dedicated to enhancing the lives of our clients and their families.

As a longtime resident and business person here in London, my experiences in life have led me to a position of truly doing what I love. My passion for helping others started a long time ago as a young person volunteering as a candy striper in nursing homes. Helping others has been a life-long passion of mine.

Having had to navigate the senior care system, it can be overwhelming. I learned though my own experiences with both of my parents as I lived more than 2 hours away and out of the country so I could not always be there to support them. I personally know the importance of having outside help to make it easier on all family members in this very busy life we all live today. Making sure our loved ones have the best possible care when we are not able to be there 24/7 is of utmost importance.

Being a Home Care Consultant for Home Instead Senior Care is a great fit because I know I'm educating and guiding people along the path on what to do when our loved ones are in need of extra help.

​My name is Wendy Cosstick and I am the CAREGiver Administrative Assistant at Home Instead Senior Care. I have lived in London my whole life and am very proud to call this city my home. Working with Seniors has been the majority of my career, providing recreational activities in long term care settings. I truly enjoy working with seniors and connecting with them through meaningful activities. Listening to their stories and learning from their experiences, was something that gives me so much joy – I couldn't believe I get paid to do a job I loved so much. My journey with Home Instead Senior Care started long before I worked here. I was a caregiver to my mother for many years. She lived with me in my home and helped to take care of my kids and family, but as things started to change, our roles reversed, and I became a caregiver to her. There came a point where I realized I needed more help and reached out to Home Instead. We had a CAREGiver come to the house daily to check in on mom and make sure she had lunch and just provide companionship while I was at work. These visits provided much needed peace of mind and helped me keep her at home longer. Home Instead Senior Care provides the care your loved ones need to allow them to thrive while aging in their own home. I am blessed to work for a locally owned business that takes such pride and passion in meeting the needs of our clients. I am so happy to be a part of this amazing team.

My name is Shannon Marks-Sharron and I am the Administrative Assistant at Home Instead.  I have worked with seniors for a majority of my career through various roles. I have taught a variety of fitness programs as well as planned/implemented many recreational programs.  I am a graduate in Recreation and Leisure Service at Conestoga College. I’m a mother of two young boys and one little dog, Chip.  I have had the pleasure of working for the YMCA for the past 12 years. I am very excited to be part of the Home Instead team.

Victoria Bucknor, CAREGiver Engagement & Project Coordinator

I am delighted to be a part of the Home Instead team. I was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica and moved to Canada when I was 12 years old.  I have a BA in Psychology from Western University with a minor in Anthropology. On the side, I work in research at Western in the Relationship Decisions lab where we research how people make decisions in romantic relationships.  It is an absolute honour to work for Home Instead.  From the moment I met with Victoria Chalmers for the first time, I knew that Home instead was a company that I would truly enjoy working for.  I have faint memories of my great-grandmother’s last few years of life when she suffered from Alzheimer’s.  I remember the heartache my family faced, and the in-home care we received really alleviated the stress on my grandfather’s shoulders.  Despite the Alzheimer’s, one thing was certain – she always remembered her great-granddaughter “Queen Victoria”.

​I enjoy keeping the office morale upbeat and active. Meeting all the new CAREGiver's and people that come into the office is exciting! Cuddling on people's laps is my favourite thing to do after I get someone to take me out for a walk, or during staff meetings. Don't be afraid to come in and say "Hello"!
