Home Instead Expert Featured in Fox News

Lakelyn Eichenberger, Home Instead gerontologist and care advocate, was recently interviewed by Fox News about the 8 biggest myths surrounding Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

One of the most popular misconceptions she said people have about the disease is its tie to old age.

Eichenberger told Fox that people's brains do change as they age -- and forgetfulness and lapses in memory are part of that process. But Alzheimer's is not a natural part of aging.

"Signs of Alzheimer's may involve difficulties with problem-solving, language skills and judgment, as well as changes in personality and behavior, which are not characteristic of normal aging," she said.
