Where were you born? Where did you grow up?

I was born and grew up in Nepal, while growing up I got to experience both the countryside and city life.

How long have you worked at Home Instead?

I have been working with Home Instead for close to a year.

What is your favourite part about being a care pro?

My favourite part about caregiving is realizing that I am making a difference in people's lives. Helping someone in need gives me satisfaction and a sense of personal fulfillment. Caring for people of different ages has grown my personal knowledge. I enjoy doing activities with my clients like playing games, watching TV, and going for walks. And, when clients appreciate the smallest of things that I do for them; things that we usually don’t think about in our daily life like taking dishes to the dishwasher, running small errands, especially when helping clients with dementia, it really makes my day!

Share an interesting story from your work?

One of my clients was dealing with dementia. As time went by it was becoming challenging to keep her busy and engaged with something. She was proficient with knitting and crocheting. I decided to request her to teach me how to knit or crochet, and she so excited to teach a newbie! Well, I never thought I would do this, but I learned little about knitting and crocheting. And this story has always been my go-to story to recount, whenever I am with another client who like to knit or crochet. They all love the idea of male learning the skill.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I consider myself a helpful and proactive individual who enjoys sports and nature. I believe in the positive impact of staying physically active, not for the health benefits but also for teamwork and discipline. I find solace in spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking in the mountains, enjoying a quiet day at the beach or simply taking a stroll in the park. Connecting with nature has always been a source of inspiration and rejuvenation for me.

God bless you, Roshan!!
