Katie, Owner

Katie Bui, Owner/President

Katie has been a resident of Colorado since 1998 where she learned to love the mountains and is an avid hiker. She serves as Owner/President at Home Instead of Pueblo.

Katie is a Colorado State University-Pueblo Alumni where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing after recognizing a passion to care for others who are in need. She later returned to the University and obtained her Advanced Nursing Practice. Katie is a double board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Family Practice. Her healthcare experience includes Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neuro-Trauma ICU, Gastroenterology, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics and Hospital Administrator.

With a strong foundation in healthcare and a passion to help others, Katie sought opportunity to own a home care company with Home Instead Franchisor to expand her capacity to care. Her goals are to build a home care company with a personal touch that fits the needs of clients and their families; To tailor a personalized plan of care for each client per his/her own individual needs; To be a leading home care company that serves local adult and senior clients; To employ and train compassionate local caregivers to become competent care professionals, ensuring the best care outcome for clients.

In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the great outdoors, traveling, gardening, and cooking.

Katie’s mantra is “Doing at least one kind act to everyone that I come in contact with every day.”

Jason, Owner

Jason Arends, Owner/Sales & Marketing

Jason has been a successful sales and marketing professional for 30 years. He serves as Owner/Sales & Marketing at Home Instead of Pueblo.

He has relevant experience with sales and marketing as he has lead successful roofing, synthetic exterior, landscape and real estate companies. He has an entrepreneurial spirit with a strong focus on customer relationships. Seeking a home care service for yourself or your love-ones can be stressful and confusing process. Jason’s goal is to ensure his clients get the best and trusted care they can in the comfort of their homes. His kind nature and willingness to help others are his motivation for owning a home care service company. For Jason, the final outcome of each engagement is never the sale of a service, it is a lasting relationship based on trust and mutual respect that he can provide clients and their families.

Team member Marlayna

Marlayna Wofford, Care Consultant

Marlayna was raised and lives in Pueblo. She serves as a Care Consultant at Home Instead of Pueblo.

She has always had a passion for helping others. Watching her grandpa battle cancer inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare, which she started after high school. She has experience working in a nursing home, hospital, specialty doctor office and health insurance company. She has worked as a CNA, Secretary, Educator and Medical Assistant over the last 20 years.

As a Care Consultant, Marlayna is dedicated to utilizing her knowledge and experience to helping seniors and their families receive the care they deserve. She believes in using her time and skills to create a bond with clients while also giving them the respect, comfort and patience they need to continue their independence at home.

She loves spending time with her husband, two children and three dogs. She also enjoys spending her time with family and friends, crocheting, weight lifting, traveling and enjoying the mountains.

Monica Guerrero, Recruitment, Engagement and Service Coordinator

Monica was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. She serves as a Recruitment, Engagement and Service Coordinator at Home Instead-Pueblo.

Monica began her career with Home Instead as a care professional where she provided countless hours of attentive care to her clients. Monica displays kindness and empathy to everyone she comes in contact with. Living in a family-oriented community, she has always cherished the warmth of family. She finds joy in serving others in her community. Her caregiving journey began at the age of 18 when she found her calling in caring for seniors. Over the years, she has dedicated herself to providing compassionate support and companionship to the elderly in her hometown. She believes their wisdom and experiences have enriched her life, fueling her passion for making a difference in their lives.

In her spare time, Monica enjoys spending time with her five children and cooking for others.
