There are many summer activities for seniors in Calgary. By planning summer activities for the older adult in your life, you provide them with Socialization, Mental stimulation, Physical activity, Sense of purpose and provide them with a fun experience to look forward to!

Here are some suggestions:

Walks in parks and gardens: Calgary has many beautiful parks and gardens that are perfect for a leisurely walk or picnic. Some popular parks to visit in the summer include Prince's Island Park, Nose Hill Park, and Fish Creek Provincial Park. Make sure to bring a Hat, Sunscreen and to be well hydrated!

Golf: Calgary has many golf courses, some of which offer senior discounts. Golfing is a great way to stay active and enjoy the beautiful summer weather. If the senior in your life cannot golf anymore, maybe they would enjoy the driving range or going to the course to watch others play. These events provide a great opportunity to socialize and enjoy live music and entertainment. Farmer's markets: Calgary has many farmer's markets throughout the summer, where seniors can shop for fresh produce and support local businesses. This is a great place to grab a coffee and people watch!

Swimming and water aerobics: Many community centers and public pools offer swimming and water aerobics classes during the summer months. Swimming is a great low-impact exercise that can help seniors stay active and cool off in the heat.

Sightseeing and tours: Calgary has many tourist attractions and landmarks that are perfect for sightseeing and exploring, such as the Calgary Tower, the Glenbow Museum, Heritage Park and the Calgary Zoo. Many of these attractions offer senior discounts or special tours.
