We are proud to feature our Care Pro of the year, Linda H.  Linda joined Home Instead in 2021 and has quickly become one of those rare Care Professionals whose presence alone brings calm, confidence, and reassurance. Linda is widely known as a steadfast advocate—someone clients, families, and colleagues trust implicitly. She doesn’t seek the spotlight, yet her work consistently shines, lighting the way for others through consistency, compassion, and quiet excellence.

Linda’s path into caregiving is personal. After a 35-year career in insurance, she chose early retirement to focus on what has always mattered most to her: supporting seniors, particularly those living with dementia or palliative needs. Her decision was shaped by her own experiences caring for family members, giving her an intuitive understanding of both the clinical challenges and emotional vulnerabilities that accompany aging.

Her personality is a natural fit for this work. Gentle, patient, and remarkably composed, Linda brings a calming presence into every space she enters. She is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a thoughtful problem solver who looks for respectful, practical ways to brighten a client’s daily life. Colleagues consistently describe her as compassionate, dependable, efficient, and genuinely kind—a true people person who follows through and does so with warmth.

Linda’s caregiving is defined by presence, patience, and an unwavering belief in each client’s dignity. She does not rush trust or force change. Instead, she listens carefully, observes closely, and responds with intention—meeting clients exactly where they are and gently illuminating the next step as their needs evolve. For those living with dementia, vision loss, anxiety, or declining independence, Linda becomes a reassuring constant. For families, she is a source of support and guidance.

Linda works in a calm, measured approach. She problem-solves respectfully, adapts seamlessly to change, and models the importance of self-care and emotional steadiness in demanding situations. Colleagues trust her judgment, value her insight, and learn from the way she balances efficiency with compassion.

Linda H. doesn’t just provide care—she builds trust, creates calm, and brings light to the lives of those she serves. The depth and breadth of Linda’s life experience illuminate every aspect of her work and make her a powerful example of what it truly means to be a Care Professional. Congratulations Linda and thank you for all you offer older adults in Saskatoon as a Home Instead Care Pro!
