Personal Support Worker - 12 hour shifts

Sleeping between the hours of 8pm-8am isn’t for everyone, that’s why Home Instead Senior Care offers schedules for night owls who prefer to be awake overnight.

For the movers and shakers who like to have a four day work week by working 12 hour day shifts, we have schedules for you too!

Office Coordinator

Home Instead Senior Care

Home Instead Senior Care is Nova Scotia's trusted provider of comprehensive in-home care services for older adults who wish to remain living at home. These services may include: assistance with trips to the doctor, reminders to take the right medication at the right time, meal preparation, light housekeeping, personal care and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. The result is companionship allowing seniors to feel safe and independent while they age in place in the home they've lived in for years.

Home Instead Senior Care is seeking a highly organized and personable individual to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for the following and have the below qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize multiple phone lines to promptly answer incoming calls. Apply customer service protocols to address caller's needs or appropriately route caller to other office personnel
  • Schedule and coordinate 100% of assigned case load in an efficient, effective and timely manner, while ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction
  • Monitor Caregiver check-ins for assigned case load. Promptly identify tardy Caregivers, notify client of delay, and determine appropriate remedial actions, if necessary
  • Handle call-outs or emergency schedule changes with little or no advance notice. Identify available Caregivers, re-staff schedules, and notify client of changes
  • Notify team of outstanding client issues at the end of each day and maintain a list of replacement Caregivers for use by the designated overnight / on-call personnel
  • Participate in overnight / on-call duties 1-2 evenings per week and every 3rd weekend
  • Maintain Client and Caregiver files in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Contact and schedule Caregivers for various training sessions and meetings
  • Assist with recruiting new CAREGivers, screening potential CAREGivers, and check references
  • Promote benefits of CAREGiving as a rewarding career
  • General reception duties


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven administrative role
  • Exceptional ability to manage own workflow to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Ability to present a confident, professional demeanor
  • Ability to learn new skills and processes quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and can deal with ambiguity
  • Familiarity with Halifax and surrounding areas

This position is eligible to be part of the Graduate to Opportunity program. This position is responsible for maximizing our existing referral relationships, seeking out new opportunities and partnerships and establishing new referral relationships.

We are looking for a high energy and results focused candidate who is committed to the growth of our organization. This individual must be a self-starter, have excellent networking and relationship management skills and be adaptable to the ever-changing senior care industry. Social media skills and knowledge of effective marketing practices are required. The Business Development Manager requires strong presentation and PowerPoint skills in order to educate referral sources about our services.
 

Education/Experience Requirements:
* University degree
* A minimum of 5 years of related business or sales experience
* Must possess a valid driver's license
* Must be able to work independently in the field
* Vehicle mileage and business development expenses paid
* A background in community health care or home health care would be an asset

Staffing Coordinator

• Assist Clients/Caregivers with coordination of ancillary services such as in-city travel and scheduling of appointments, as required.
• Maintain Client and Caregiver files in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Field Client inquiries over the phone in a knowledgeable manner.
• Contact and schedule Caregivers for various training sessions and meetings.

Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or diploma
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven scheduling role
• Exceptional ability to manage own workflow to ensure quality and efficiency
• Ability to present a confident, professional demeanor

Client Care Coordinator

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is the world`s largest provider of comprehensive non-medical care services for older adults who wish to remain living at home. We are looking for a motivated, results-oriented professional for the role of Client Care Coordinator who can conduct in-home care consultations, perform quality assurance visits and otherwise manage our client accounts to provide the highest quality service to our senior clients and their families.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet with potential clients and family members to discuss their needs and provide solutions in the form of a service plan.
  • Conduct Service Inquiries and Care Consultations as needed following the consultative sales process.
  • Work with other team members to coordinate various aspects of a client’s care.
  • Conduct client/CAREGiver introductions with every new client/CAREGiver.
  • Create and maintain client and responsible party records documenting all quality assurance meetings.
  • Recognize and pursue opportunities to modify service plans to best support the ongoing needs of clients through a quality assurance program.
  • Work with clients and their families on the various issues that may arise to ensure they are getting resolution to issues as well as receiving the services needed.
  • Recognize and pursue opportunities to introduce Home Instead Senior Care services to RPNs while visiting apartment buildings, condos, assisted living communities and the hospital (superintendents, managers, care managers, nurses, social workers etc.).
  • Generate weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports
  • Participate in community events and networking events as necessary
  • Conduct care consultations/intros and other on call tasks every 3rd weekend

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • LPN or professional in a health-related field with a university degree
  • No less than 3 years of experience in a Community Care or Retirement Living role
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
  • Competitive spirit, capable of working independently
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Self- motivated with excellent prioritizing and time management skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate, influence and problem solve
  • Must possess a reliable vehicle and clean driving record
  • The flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment where work outside of office hours can be required

Compensation commensurate with experience and education. Position to commence between March-April 2018.
