CAREGiverâ„  Awards

The Home Instead network truly values CAREGivers and all they contribute to the Home Instead mission. In fact, Home Instead culture revolves around the way CAREGivers are cared for. But simply saying how much we value CAREGivers isn’t enough.

The Home Instead network likes to show our appreciation, too. From small, in-office celebrations to naming regional CAREGivers of the Year, the network celebrates year-round with appreciation events. And we do one very big, very important, very public appreciation event, too: naming the recipient of the Mary Steibel CAREGiver of the Year Award.

2020 CAREGiver of the Year: Maria “Dani” Frank

Maria immigrated to the U.S. in 1974 from Portugal with next to nothing. In addition to 20 years with Home Instead, she has worked at a hospital, returned to Portugal to care for her family, and even cared for husband until he passed.

“When I have a client, I always put myself in their place. I take care of them the way I want to be taken care of or the way I’ve cared for my family. Everything I’ve gone through in my life – losing mom and dad, losing my husband – this job gives me strength to keep going and lets me know that life is truly worth living,” said Maria.
