June 2022 Care Professional of the Month - Vicky Tansingco

We are pleased to announce Vicky Tansingco as the ninth recipient of Home Instead Markham’s Care Professional of the Month award for June 2022.

Vicky has been employed by our office since January of this year and is an extremely valued member of this team. Vicky was originally born and raised in a province called Pangasinan which is in the west-central area of Luzon in the Philippines. Vicky is a devoted wife and caring mother of three children. Her friends and family describe her as an extremely caring and loving individual. She always puts her heart and soul into everything she does! She is extremely resilient and always brings a positive attitude to every situation she comes to face. She also has a great sense of humor that those around her love.

When Vicky is not working at Home Instead, she spends her time hanging out with her family. She enjoys watching romantic comedy movies with her husband and kids on their Friday family movie nights and is also very passionate about gardening, as she finds it to be a very calming escape for the day. Her other hobbies include reading her daily devotion and listening to music.

Vicky’s entry into a career as a Care Professional stemmed from her experience growing up with her grandparents. Throughout her childhood she witnessed her grandparents endure sickness, though they hesitated to ask for help from others as they did not want to be seen as a burden. This motivated Vicky to change the face of aging for the better where she has gained a newfound passion for continually supporting and easing the daily lives of seniors.

One of Vicky’s favorite things about being a part of the Home Instead Markham team, is the flexibility in shift times and hours. The flexibility of hours allows Vicky to schedule her shifts at times that are most convenient for her. Vicky is a stay-at-home mom and was looking for a part-time job that provided shifts during the time her kids were at school. Thanks to the flexibility here at Home Instead, Vicky was able to still spend time with her kids while also working part-time. Vicky typically works with one of our male clients who resides in a retirement facility and a female client who is living independently in her home. She describes her experiences as a Care Professional as “one of a kind” and a great learning experience. Vicky has learned working with clients who have dementia can be challenging at times, but also extremely rewarding knowing she is supporting both the clients and their families. Through the tough times on the job, Vicky has strengthened her relationship with God to provide her strength and guidance to assist others.

We have received nothing but raving reviews regarding Vicky’s abilities from both the clients and family members of the clients. It is evident that Vicky makes a positive impact on everyone she interacts with and always goes above and beyond for her clients. We are privileged to have her on our team. Thank you for everything you do and congratulations Vicky!
